Good but frustrating.
The Volumio app is basically okay. With it I can stream music from my NAS to multiple RaspyPi based network streamers. However it’s functionality and user interface leave a lot to be desired compared to slicker apps such as that from Audirvana (for example). It desperately needs an A-Z quick find ‘jump’ index system as currently have to tediously scroll through your entire artist list to search from A-Z. Annoyingly when moving from a specific artist listed under (for example F) instead of finding myself back in the alphabetical list of all artists under F it jumps back to ‘A’ necessitating more scrolling to get back to where you were in the first place. Secondly an auto update on start up for newly added music should be added (asap please)! Thirdly if left playing but not interacted with the app seems to forget that it’s playing and I have to re search for the player to wake it up again. On the plus side the BBC radio links, and Tidal integration is much appreciated. It’s rock steady streaming files and is easy to configure. It has a lot going for it but I’d rather see these basic issues addressed before any more AI functionality is added.
