The app has too many basic bugs
The apps feedback of basic interactions like play/pause or song switch has a huge delay, especially if you connect it to external speaker like tv. The delay can be about 5-25 seconds. There is also a sync delay, if you leave the music play for some time at external speaker and then open mobile app to change the song - it will show you the preview of the song that used to play about 10-20 minutes ago. There is no UI feedback on turning the shuffle on and off. When the song added to the playlist there is no mention of that in the “+Save” menu, so you don’t know what playlist already has that song. The visuals of the app are pretty distracting and sometimes hard to see, because of the half transparent cards and background. The layout is confusing sometimes, as well as the search results. Why would I need videos, comments and likes in the music app? My main goal is to listen to the music! The amount of “trash” songs is annoying- when you look for the song you will find about 5 live versions, covers and releases. I want to see only one the final release

I’ve been a longtime user and the best thing about YT Music is that you can access/play songs that aren’t available on any of the other platforms through videos from YT. They can be added to playlists just like any other track. That’s really the only advantage they have over the comp. I’ve tried a lot of the other popular streaming services but always come back to YT Music after finding that a decent amount of the music I listen to is unavailable. For me, that’s a big deal. 4 star worthy. The rest of the app & experience - meh. The recommendations/music discovery are average but on par with the other services. The “Start Radio” is hit or miss but rarely continues the musical theme that initiated the process. It’ll also use songs already in my library or playlist. But every now and then, the YT gods will bless me with a gem. I really wish they would allow search strictly within a playlist and enable some sort of light mode. Shuffle is mediocre and seems to recycle the same order pretty regularly.

Took about 5 years, but
they finally added a sleep timer! Going to raise my review to a 4/5, now if they could bring better playlist editing (namely sorting from within the music app, and setting a default sort order to playlists) as well as more options for controlling the autoplay songs (eg. strictly only related tracks, maybe filter options to add conditions like release date, include/exclude artists, etc.) I'd be pretty happy with this as a music app.

Leave You Tube Music alone
Can the developments team just leave the application alone. It’s worked perfectly fo years until greed took control and more advertising became a priority. In the last two month the application has more than 10 updates! This started from them adding a quite nasty need for non prem users to minimise the screen to view and skip the advertising before being able to listen to song truly dangerous for those than use the app in cars! Now they they seem to of back tracked but left the app glitchy. Some things are better left alone! Do the firmware updates but leave the layout and everything else alone. When will they learn.

Best music player
Need bit of upgrades like equalise or lossless audio.
Also good to have dedicated tab for podcast. High fidelity audio would be nice to have. Overall app is stable and performance as expected

Account issues
I’ve got the YT Music subscription. Happy for the most part. The app can recognise your account is logged in and playing on another device and will ask if you want to regain control or not but won’t continue from where you left off if you do choose to regain control 🤔
Also the radio or autoplay playlists are great, a bit repetitive but the app doesn’t have the option to choose similar, discover etc like you do on pc.

UPDATE: you listened :) !!! I love it, thank you! Now I open the app and all of MY favorite music is one click away!!!!!!!!! This is huge for me! (iPhone user) if I switch apps this app automatically goes into landscape mode and screen turn black. I have to turn my phone sideways then upright to make it normal. Why can’t you fix that??? Lol its been this way for years now. The UI definitely needs an update to make it super easy for the user to listen to their own music easily, I usually have to click 10 buttons and scroll around to find my own music… that’s so weird. Especially when I’m driving it is the most difficult thing ever! There are way too many recommendations on my Home Screen that I’m not even interested in. Idk how other music apps operate but please take all those distractions and bury them somewhere deep not right in my face. MUSIC IS PERSONAL. I like my saved music and or playlist to be the first thing I see when I open this app. If YouCare please help us stay tuned and safe.

Save to play list
On the front page, same as play and forward there should be a button to save this song to the playlist. She don’t have to go into the and use passcode to enter the phone so you can save a song it should be done on the first page as well It’s unfortunate that you cannot go to the previous song that is a very stupid not to be able to go back to the previous song or the previous track it is a ridiculous that you have to go to history to find the last song that you were playing what kind ofGenius had that idea to take away rewind the previous track please fix that

It’s really good but there’s only a few problem
the good stuff is that if you have a family you don’t have to sign in the same account to have no adds you can just have a family account and it has all your favourite music but the problems are that if you want a song deleted from your listen again then you will need to reset your phone and that if your payment expires then you will have to get adds every 2 songs
Also that if you really like a song so you add it to your likes most of the time it won't add to it

Why the heck??!
So overall I would say the app is pretty good! If you like long annoying ads and bug troubles. I love that I have access to the music I love, and personally I don’t mind the ads. But some of the ads ARE TOO LONG. I understand that you can get rid of them by paying premium, but not all of us can afford that, especially now in days. It adds up pretty quickly, so I can get past the ads, but the bug issues need to get fix. I was logged out of the app when I updated my phone, no biggie. I can just sign back in, right? But no, I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app to be able to sign in. I tried looking up what to do. So far what I have found hasn’t helped me. It just continues to show me no home page, the music listening page, but it just blank?? I really don’t know how to fix this, and have tried everything I can possibly think of. I even updated the app, but nothing works. I think it just a really bad bug issue that is happening. But there is also the playlist maker, when you make a playlist you get to choose the cover. But it only from the already approved and limited choices of (beautiful, not dissing the art just the limited choices) covers. At least let me have access to photos to a cover I like! Or is that only for premium people? Those are pretty much the only things that are keeping me from enjoying the music and app. It’s a great app and has good music finds, but why the bug issue?
