AdBlock Pro for Safari User Reviews

Doesn’t work for me

I haven’t noticed any ads blocked within Safari. What I have noticed is YouTube videos played within safari stall. I disabled the Adblock extensions for Safari and my videos then play normally. I am running iPadOS 17.7.2. I tried restarting my iPad, reloading your app etc.

On a side note I’ve noticed it has taken up to 2 years for support to respond to these reviews. Why bother responding?

I will now delete your free app.

To ensure AdBlock Pro works properly, make sure to enable it in: - iOS/iPadOS: 'Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions' and 'Content Blockers'. - macOS: 'Safari > Settings > Extensions' and 'Websites > Content Blockers'. Ads are blocked only in Safari browser, not other apps. For YouTube ad blocking: - macOS: Enable the Video extension in Safari settings. - iOS/iPadOS: Ensure Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions > AdBlock Pro > Permissions > youtube.com is set to "Allow" and the "Bypass Anti-AdBlock" option is enabled in the General tab of the app. Restart Safari if needed, and update to the latest app and system versions. If issues persist, please report the websites via the app's "Report Website" feature for more help.

Actually does what it says it does!

I downloaded this app thinking it would require some monthly fee or subscription. I was wrong. The best part is that you don’t need to get premium for a good experience. I’m impressed.

Can't work on youtube in safari

Since the new youtube policy forcing people to disable adblockers it hasn't been working. Also instead of getting rid of the ads entirely it jumps to the end before playing the video. Everything is enabled correctly in settings.

Response from developer

To ensure ad-blocking works on YouTube in Safari, make sure you've enabled the Video extension in the Safari settings on macOS. On iOS, go to Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions > AdBlock Pro and ensure the youtube.com row is set to "Allow." Also, enable the Bypass Anti-AdBlock feature in the General tab of the app. We recently released update 11.1.0 that addresses some YouTube ad-blocking issues. Please make sure you're up-to-date and restart Safari after making changes. If the problem persists, use the Report Website feature in the app to provide more details.

How to stop redirecting ads?

This has been a big help for pop up ads while reading manga but it’s not so great when it comes to ads that redirect me to a different site. Is there a feature to help with this?

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback, 🌀Swirly🌀! To help with ads that redirect you, make sure the "Stop Tracking Scripts" and "Bypass Anti-AdBlock" options are turned on in the General tab of the app. If you're still having trouble, ensure that you're using the latest versions of both AdBlock Pro and your device's operating system. You might also want to use the "Report Website" feature within the app to inform us of specific sites causing issues. This will help us in improving the app further.

Sweet Relief

I’m really sensitive and have crazy bad sensory processing issues. Definitely OCD. Maybe ASD. As a result, ads and commercials mess with my mind so much. I just have no natural filter for unwanted stimuli. I can’t believe it took me so long to discover ad blockers! Better late than never, I guess. I am so, so grateful for AdBlock Pro. You can only choose 1 blocking option to enable with the free version. I’m also running 1Blocker and AdGuard, so I chose different options for each blocker for thorough coverage. I’ll pay for one of them eventually. Just want to experiment a little before committing. I like the AdBlocker pro app best so far, and definitely want to take advantage of in-app tracker blocking soon. You have to pay for that no matter which blocker you choose. Annoyances on Safari are down about 80% with the extensions I’ve got enabled now. Can’t wait to get ad blockers running on my MacBook as well. The future looks bright 💛

BEST FOR BLOCKING ADS

I’ve tried several of the top-rated ad blockers and anti-pop-up apps and found this one to be the more effective and reliable on offer. The price is very reasonable as well, I think. I can recommend this app to anyone who wants something that works as described on Safari.

Great app and worth the purchase!

It’s a great app and user friendly! However I would love it to have a feature where I could track what trackers have been blocked and how many in a total count. I am also keen for it to have privacy preserving protections for mail ios.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback! We're glad you're enjoying AdBlock Pro. While we don't have a tracker count feature or Mail privacy protection within the app, your suggestions are valuable, and we may consider them in future updates. In the meantime, feel free to share our app with friends who might benefit from ad blocking.
