Description of Firefox

Get the people-first browser that’s backed by a non-profit. It’s a new era in tech. Don’t settle for a browser produced by giant, profit-driven, data-hoarding tech companies. Firefox is the obvious choice for independent, ethical tech that respects your privacy and gives you more ways than ever to tailor your internet experience exactly the way you want it. Download Firefox now for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Firefox is backed by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the internet remains a global public resource, open and accessible to everyone. When you make Firefox your go-to, everyday browser, you’re also joining a unique (serious nerd cred) community that’s actively helping to diversify the way people experience the internet. Firefox is extremely private for a reason — and the reason is you. We want you to have an amazing experience every time you use Firefox. We know feeling safe and secure are foundational for enjoying your time online. Since version 1 in 2004, we’ve taken privacy seriously, because we’ve always been in the business of valuing people first, over everything. When you care more about people than profits, privacy naturally becomes a top priority. DIFFERENT DEVICES. SAME TRAIN OF THOUGHT Now you can search for things on your laptop, then pick up the exact same search on your phone and vice versa. Your Firefox homepage displays the most recent searches you’ve done on other devices so you can easily get back to what you were doing or thinking about. LIMITED-EDITION WALLPAPERS Introducing limited-edition wallpapers from independent creators. Stick with one you love or switch it up anytime to make Firefox match your mood. STREAMLINED HOME SCREEN Pick up right where you left off. See all your open tabs intuitively grouped and displayed along with your recent bookmarks, top sites and popular articles recommended by Pocket. PRIVACY CONTROL IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. By default, Firefox blocks trackers and scripts such as social media trackers, cross-site cookie trackers, cryptominers and fingerprinters. In addition to Apple’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention, setting Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection to strict blocks tracking content in all windows. Also, you can easily choose to search in private browsing mode. And when you close private browsing mode, your browsing history and any cookies are automatically erased from your device. GET FIREFOX ON ALL YOUR DEVICES Add Firefox across your devices for secure, seamless browsing. In addition to synced tabs and searches, Firefox makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices. FIND IT FAST WITH FIREFOX’S SEARCH BAR Get search suggestions in the search bar and quickly access the sites you visit most. Type in your search question and get suggested and previously searched results across your favorite search engines. ORGANIZE YOUR TABS THE WAY YOU LIKE Create as many tabs as you like without losing track. Firefox displays your open tabs as thumbnails and numbered tabs, making it easy to find what you want quickly. SHARE ANYTHING IN A FEW TAPS The Firefox web browser makes it easy to share links to web pages or specific items on a page with easy, quick access to your most recently used apps. • PDF copy & Night Mode don't not work for Opening new Tabs on Apple iOS on iPad Pro

PDF copy Text Function is suddenly suppressed in Firefox including on Public Websites.

Submitting FEEDBACK without logging in through Google or something else also doesn't work. Even clicking Like in support of the same questions is impossible without logging in. What about Privacy touted by Firefox?

Night Mode does not work for Opening new Tabs on Apple iOS on iPad Pro. New Tabs open in Deliberately BRIGHT WHITE SHINY AND DAMAGING TO EYES AND CIRCADIAN RYTHMS WHITE BACKGROUND, despite Search Tab opening correctly in System Default Night Mode selected on iOS as customization. On Firefox Bug Report Button doesn't work. Sending emails to developer requires relogin (and I am already logged in the Browser in April 2023 and am not wasting my time to login for each and every thing over and over again)... Other thing is often and almost banytime I return to the browser after minimizing, instead of currently viewed tab a new blank tab with search opens up, and it's not a good idea, as it wasting time to get back to the tab I was in the process of using previously (even with feature to jump to the old tab, it is still annoying and wasting precious time).

  • Great browser, but what just happened to Private Browsing??

I’ve been using Firefox for a few years now and I love it, but on my new iPad, Private Browsing just randomly changed how it works. Instead of having the exact same homepage as regular mode, now it’s just a purple screen talking about how private mode works. That means NO shortcuts. And I ONLY use private mode because I dislike having any browser history, so this is kind of really hurting me, because it just happened today, and I really don’t like it. Another thing this new change did is that it doesn’t autofill website links when I type them into the bar in private mode. Why? Why must they make my life harder all out of nowhere? But if this can get fixed soon, I’ll be more than happy, and I’ll even give a full 5 stars. Another issue is that the app crashes literally every single time I try moving around my active tabs. Both issues I listed were problems I only encountered with the iPad version, by the way. That’s still not fixed yet.

  • Firefox is not my love anymore

This is a shame to see Mozilla and Firefox like this. Back in the day when they were ambitious and wanted to create their own mobile OS, they used to have the nicest of designs, awesome products and much more, these days I don't want to look at their products, as they smell bored and disinterested corporate designs, just look at the tab shadows in the desktop version, menu icons in the iOS app, they used to have the most beautiful icon on the planet and now it is a ugly flat design sitting on a very sadly ugly dark background that I just hate to see on my dock. And this is while browsers like Arc exits and they are making their products more and more beautiful everyday with love and care. Chrome, in all of its evillessness is so nicely designed that I have to controll myself from using, and the only product on the planet that used to be for the freedom of web is now so adandoned by the very company that makes it that you can feel it. If you are hearing this, please please bring back love and passion to Firefox, it is not what we were in love with and I really hate to see it like this. I still long to be a Firefox user, but one that is made with love.
