Very useful offline dictionary

I use this app for learning French - especially when it comes to slang words not included in my dictionaries.

Easy to use & navigate through, though it would be nice to have the option to organise search results alphabetically.

For example, when I search for the common verb ‘faire’, hundreds of phrases with ‘faire’ will show up. But the entry for the word itself will be buried underneath forty or fifty of these phrases instead of being at the top of the page.

Thank you for creating such a good application, it meets all my needs!

Response from developer

Thanks, you're right, exact matches are often buried–this is already on the list of things to fix!

There is a bug after updating

Used to be super good, but the most recent update made the app collapse when try to read the word origin by pressing the green triangle. I hope this could be fixed in the next updates

Response from developer

Please try the most recent version, the problem should be fixed there

Great

Speedy, with great typography. Usually better more pleasant than using the Wiktionary site. But it would be better to have the target language dictionary in itself (e.g. french dictionary in french) in addition to the target language to english dictionary.
(Maybe this exists if I switch the OS language, but even in app settings there isn’t a way to set the app language. Anyway it would be best to support both)

Thanks for the app

Thanks, good suggestion I’ll look into it

Great

Speedy, with great typography. Usually better more pleasant than using the Wiktionary site. But doesn’t show all the entries from Wiktionary for some reason. Example: à bien des égards (fr)

Also, it would be better if the “Search in” sheet -> Wiktionary option took into account the currently selected language, instead of always going to “en”.

Thanks for the app

Response from developer

Not sure what you’re referring to. Please review the app, not the content.

Good, but crashes when opening etymology

Like the title says.

Response from developer

Thanks, please make sure you have “share iPhone & watch analytics” enabled in the privacy settings so that crash reports get sent.

Perfect dictionary

Perfect app for dictionary collection. Very smooth and minimalistic.

I wish it had user tags and more ways to sort words. And a dedicated button for importing text.

Response from developer

Thanks, a word list feature will come in a future release

Amazing

What a beautifully designed experience with all the right incentives of that which is good. Thank you for the thoughtful and delightful work you’ve shared here for the purpose of helping others and I’m sure other decent reasons. Thanks

Best dictionary app

Thank you for this app. It helps me learn languages!

Ancient Greek! Excellent addition to excellent program!

I am delighted that ancient Greek (and modern, too,but especially ancient) has come to Moti, but this version is still quite buggy on MacOS. It does not allow search in Greek (αλλότριος can be found using English characters as “allotrios” but not in Greek) and crashes even when searching in English. For example, I can’t search for περισπωμένως in ancient Greek, but can begin to search in English, to a point. I can search up to “peri” but Moti crashes after that. It is not clear if Moti needs or requires accents and diacritics to function. If so, its utility would be compromised, since the keyboard combinations to enter all the markings are cumbersome and time consuming, Entering approximations in English/Latin characters would be quickest, but only if the program doesn’t crash each time the search string gets to be longer that 3-4 characters. Anyway, thanks for making this available, and good luck with the bug fixes!
