App keeps closing

Subscription gave me no features

I paid $49.99 for the yearly premium addition and yet every time I use the app I get a notice asking me to pay for premium, now $24.99 for the year 🙄. None of the features I paid for are activated. Not impressed and I’ve asked for a refund.

Crashes

I was looking forward to using the MacOS version of the app but unfortunately, it kept crashing and I tried uninstalling and now it won’t even install

Issue with UI update

Before the five minute journal used to be simple. Now you have to go to the first tab, with all these clicks I can’t even edit my journals if I realized there was a mistake. This is terrible. Also I’ve asked plenty of times to have desktop version for mac users but it’s never happened. This was my last straw because now even on mobile app it’s a terrible user experience. Way too many clicks to just enter my journal.

Response from developer

We're very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the update. We've worked very hard to implement all sorts of new features that have been requested by users over the years. With all these updates, in order to maintain a sustainable future for the Five Minute Journal app, we did have to make adjustments to the pricing structure. However, as an existing user, you will be eligible for a free one-year subscription to the premium features. We're confident that you will thoroughly enjoy all the new premium features. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email our support at hello@intelligentchange.com. We're happy to help.

App keeps crashing

Cannot open app at all, just crashes the second it opens. Updated app, updated IOS, restarted iPad, no luck

Tested them all, this wins

After downloading a few journaling apps like mydiary, day one, evernote even, etc in search of one that is easy and quick to add my thoughts, I finally found the five minute journal. It was the one that fit my purpose best. My friend recommended as she has the physical diary from Five Minute Journal and is a big fan of the brand. She liked the method they use and told me about the app even though she isn't a user. I've got the subscription and have found the app extremely smooth to follow on a daily basis. Its a journal app so it's suppose to be simple and they've kept it that way. I've told her to give it a go and try the app herself, as she was the one that recommended it to me in first place, but she's just too much in love with having the actual diary and refused to test it....Anyway, I'm more of a tech person so the app suited my goal: reflecting daily and being grateful for the small to the big things that happen in liffe. Today I maintain a consistent journaling habit that I always wanted and that other tools didn't make it possible. I love the prompts the app offers, and I even added the quote of the day as a widget to my home screen, it's very cute and would be even cuter if it was a bit more colourful or if it changed colours every now and then. I've already referred the app to a few people. Thanks to my friend and to Five Minute team! Please keep updating this app so it never dies.

Greatest journaling experience

I’m truly grateful for this app and felt compelled to share my appreciation for its creators. The beauty of this app lies in its simplicity with no unnecessary functions or complications. Just open it and begin writing. My mornings have formed a ritual, drinking my coffee and then sitting down to jot down my thoughts in the app, often reflecting on the previous night as well. The most significant impact of using this app consistently is the subtle yet deep sense of well-being and warmth it brings to my life. I've noticed that it also positively influences my interactions with others, and I find myself spotting the silver linings in situations more frequently, whether or not I mention them at the time. Whenever I feel a dip in my mood, I often realise it coincides with a break from journaling so I try to keep up with writing my gratitude and reflecting on my day as much as I can. Having used it for over a year now, this pattern has been consistent. This morning, I felt an immense sense of gratitude and decided to share my thoughts without any prompt from the app. It's my way of paying it forward, hoping others might find the same value in this tool that I have. I hope everyone have a delightful day!

Getting used to journaling. Simply great!

I've been using the app for 7 days now and doing my entries in the morning and evenings. There are 3 prompts in the morning and 2 in the evening, so it is quite quick, 5 minutes or less to fill the daily journal. The first 3 days of using the app I had to police myself to complete the prompts as it was not yet part of my routine and the notifications were coming in times when I was not available or didn't yet have finished my day to reflect.. On day 3 I realised I could change the time of the day for the notifications, and that has made it wayy easier. So I've setup the notifications for the time I usually wake up and the time I'm in bed before going to sleep. Since then it's been fast and straightforward to keep up with journaling. This year I've started practicing self love in different aspects of my life, like exercising, skin care, breath work and recently daily affirmations and gratitude with this app. The one suggestion I have is to include more prompt types, as they repeat every day. For example sometimes I just don't want to answer one of the prompts as they just don't fit exactly with something that happened on my day, so would be nice if the app suggested using different prompts from the current ones. Other than that the app has been exactly what I was looking for. Daily quotes are also inspiring and I like to read them after my mourning journal to start the day feeling motivated.
