  • Fantastic!

It’s early days with this app, but it’s fantastic and so easy to use.
I’m a long time pop and rock amateur drummer who’s been dabbling with jazz in early retirement.
I’ve been working on All Blues (3/4, or I hear the musicians cry, 6/8).
It sounds simple, but I’ve been having a blast working through some fills whilst having one two three in my headphones and really enjoying my improvisation without sticking in that erroneous four!

  • Simple but effective

Excellent app for improving my internal time. Having random beats drop forces me to keep my own time.
  • Improves my time keeping

    A fun tool to have.
    Simple elegant interface.
  • One of only two

There are only two metronomes you will ever need and this is one of them. The other is Tempo Advance. They both allow for high complexity for advanced rhythmic work. They complement each other and you should purchase both.
  • Doesn’t work in portrait mode on iPad Pro

Pretty annoying when practicing with scores on the iPad. Other than the gradual function it really doesn’t do anythimg that Tonal Energy’s metronome doesn’t do, and that app is much more user friendly and has many more features. This was a game changing app in it’s day but has been left behind, unfortunately.

Hi, can I ask why annoying when practicing with scores on the iPad? In any case, I beg to differer: Tonal Energy is a decent app, but doesn't offer random muting, pattern muting, or any of the complex rhythmic time feels that Time Guru does.
  • Love This App, But Some Suggestions...

I love this app on my iPhone and given the iPad's additional capabilities it would be great to see a portrait orientation available because I often use Time Guru in tandem with my music reading app, which is best in portrait. Also making use of the SlideOver function would be very handy again to use in tandem with my music reader which would save the constant need for switching apps just to bump the tempo up or down.

Aside from this, the app runs great and I use it often.

Hoping to see new features added soon!

  • My new favorite metronome!

I really like not having to listen to an annoying click on every beat, yet still having something going in the background to keep me in time. It sounds a lot more musical/interesting than just a steady, droning metronome too.

That said, I only use it as a basic metronome, so can't speak of the advanced features. They seem to work as advertised though.

  • Doesn’t work correctly.

Doesn’t seem to work correctly. It doesn’t allow you to remove beats, the way it says it should in the first part of the help section.
  • Super glitchy iPad Pro

Completely useless on iPad Pro. Deleted and re-installed. Emailed for advice several times to no response. Great for iPhone, crap for iPad. Stay away.

The issue was that the controls for adding or removing subdivisions in the “meter select” don’t work. So if I added any variation to the metronome it was irreversible, and in order to clear it and get a new metronome, I had do delete and reinstall the app. Annoying to the max in the middle of a practice routine. I’ll revise my rating if they fix this issue, or even respond to my query.

Hi. I never got an email from you about this. I would like to know if this indeed is a bug with the iPad Pro, because I haven't heard a similar issue. If you are still having a problem, could you send me a video? I don't have an iPad Pro to test with - only my iPad Mini and the simulator that Apple provides. Sorry for the troubles. timeguruvoxbeat@gmail.com
  • Excellent for complex rhythms

This is a great app for practising against complex rhythms. The ability to drop the metronome is also a great feature: when playing for real it's all to easy to speed up or slow down; this feature helps you track how well you can self-regulate the pulse.
