So after I do all the work it finally tells me it costs money. I would just like to know that ahead of time.

Waste of time

Very disappointed in this app. Only after you go through your contacts and add everyone on the secret Santa list and then mark who cannot get who do they tell you that more then 6 people will require an upgrade of $5.50! For a one time use! Total waste of time.

For a single event with up to 6 people, notifying guests by email, the app is completely free. If you're lucky enough to have more than 6 friends then there is an In-App-Purchase to unlock that feature. The app is supported with new features being added, so hopefully you'll get to use it year after year. Cheers, Ash

Almost perfect...

Overall a very good and simple name picker. Love that I can apply unlimited restrictions and also force someone to get a specific pick, if desired. Just wish that two things could be improved for next year:

1. Have the ability to send picks to someone’s text AND email (not just either or).

2. Texts/emails should generate and send automatically without me having to push the send button for each one. I covered the screen with my hand as they were being generated so I couldn’t see, but I don’t want to be able to see who everyone has as the messages are being sent. In most cases, the organizer is a part of the exchange and would also like to be surprised.

Overall, did what I needed it to. Four stars for convenience and ease of choosing options.

Surprise charge

The app itself is great! I love how I can choose who doesn’t get who for political reasons in our family! I wish the app was more up front about the $3.99 it costs for more than 6 guests. Most secret Santas will be more than 6 people and it was a little shady to have me do all the work of manually inputting emails and everything just to tell me I have to pay for it when I’m hitting the send button. I paid the fee because I didn’t want to have to do the work over again on a different app. I probably would have paid for it anyway but felt better if it was more obvious that it would cost me money. Anyway, great app in and of itself.

What a con

Would only let me proceed if I paid the £3.99, there was no other option other than to cancel the whole thing after inputting all of the email addresses. I didn’t want to pay anything for secret Santa. Such a con. It should be made clear from the beginning that it is not a free app.
