Worth the $3.99

This is the only app that allows you to choose who is not allowed to get each other’s names. Saves you so much time and annoying moments. Also! You can select names from your contacts which allowed me to no have to manually write everybody’s info. I’ll use this every year, so why not! So good

Works well! Paid the $6 on the spot. Will come in handy in future events too so I figured why not?

Only down side is, email to notify participants about who to buy for is not compatible with the gmail app, it comes up as gibberish, though if you open the same email on desktop or the iPhone inbuilt Apple mail app, it works fine.

Also as a tip, just look away when sending the individual emails to notify participating gift givers(it shows who they’re assigned to!), don’t spoil the secret!

Other than that, does what it’s suppose to so I’m happy :)

A couple things to change

If you are participating in the gift exchange, you are forced to see who everyone is buying for as you send each email. Not good. Also, once you create an event, you can’t go back and change info like date and cost. Not perfect, but good idea.

Beware of being charged without notice

I used this app for secret Santa with my family. Although the app worked as promised and was easy to do, I found I was charged for an “in-app purchase”, which I was unaware of. The only thing I can think of is that I chose to text the messages instead of email, but was never notified that I would be charged to do so. The app was free and I never got a prompt that I was going to be charged so that’s why this is getting a 1 star from me. $4 to text Shady AF

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review. I just want to be VERY clear here - all purchases go through Apple’s standard process. There is no way to bypass it. You are shown a fullsceen message regarding unlocking the app and then are asked clearly to confirm your purchase If you haven’t used the IAP features (e.g. SMS sending) then please contact me for a refund. Tap the “there’s a problem” in the info screen of the app. Happy Holudays. Ash

App does not unlock after paying

Paid to unlock this app but the app is not unlocking. I try re-installing the app and still not able to unlock even though I already paid. Sent message to app developer and have not heard back from them.

Bummer

The app forces you to spend $3.99 if you want to use SMS or if you have over 6 people in the group. THEN... the app does generate a text but it shows who each person has. So as the “admin” I see who everyone has including the person who has me.

Messaging anonymity

Being the person using their phone you see all the messages. This doesn’t work when you’re meant to be included and it’s meant to be secret Santa. Is there a setting I can change?

Awesome APP!!!

We weren’t able to do our annual name draw this year at Thanksgiving due to not everyone in our family being able to be together so this made it so easy!!! Great idea! Thank you for this ingenious app!

Makes you see who got you before you send

I didn’t want to see who was buying for me through email it didn’t give you an option to not see the email so now I know who got me...which wasn’t the point of secret Santa 🙄
