The person setting up the secret Santa event knows the details for everyone. The app required me to send each text one at a time, and the details were visible on my screen. The details are also visible in the sent text message history.LaplanteJ

Email should be transparent
Emails are not transparent to the organiser and come from the organisers email address rather than via the app. So you still get to see who is s buying for who. Also other secret Santa sites also offer an ability to put in wish lists as well for suggestions.Bundybare

Hi Bundybare, thanks for downloading Secret Santa, and thanks for taking time to write a review. I understand that some organisers don't want to see who is buying for who, and it's possible to see this in the app when sending emails / SMS. I'm looking at ways around this, and will have a solution in a future update. Of course, who buys for who would only be apparent to you - for all the recipients the secret is still just that (maybe I should rename it 90% Secret Santa!). Disappointing. I bought the app but one person received an email that was unreadable, and there is not apparently a way to switch his contact info to resend the message to his phone without reshuffling the results.
For the price, this app should be able to do more, like allow anonymous questions to be asked if each participant.Show lessliseetee

This app is supposed to be compatible with my phone and iOS version. Everything worked great, including adding people from my contacts, choosing who needs to buy for a certain person or not to buy for. The last step sends an email to each person added, but I kept getting an error message that my phone can’t send emails. I checked all my settings and my mail app is set up with an account but it still wouldn’t work. Very disappointed bc I ended up just spoiling the surprise (for myself) and looking at the matches so I could manually send an email to each person with their secret match.Show lessashleyrmc
Not So Secret Santa
This app was great until the very end and it showed me the text it was going to send so I now know who everyone has which kills the Christmas spirit... pretty upset.Secret Santa Fail
Worth the $3.99
This is the only app that allows you to choose who is not allowed to get each other’s names. Saves you so much time and annoying moments. Also! You can select names from your contacts which allowed me to no have to manually write everybody’s info. I’ll use this every year, so why not! So goodMakita_Banana

Works well! Paid the $6 on the spot. Will come in handy in future events too so I figured why not?
Only down side is, email to notify participants about who to buy for is not compatible with the gmail app, it comes up as gibberish, though if you open the same email on desktop or the iPhone inbuilt Apple mail app, it works fine.
Also as a tip, just look away when sending the individual emails to notify participating gift givers(it shows who they’re assigned to!), don’t spoil the secret!
Other than that, does what it’s suppose to so I’m happy :)Show lessSuziberi
