Absolutely brutal update
I’ve been using the pattern for years, but this new update is just an absolute nightmare.
The entire app is basically unusable now. Its a shame, I’ve loved the pattern for years but I, and likely most of the dozens of my friends that use it, will be putting it down for good.

Bad ui design update
I love this app but just opened it and hate this new update. The design is bad and feels tacky. I don’t like the corny stock photos used everywhere for design and covers on the patterns. I don’t like how bright it is too and how there’s no way to swap to a dark mode theme. I don’t like how the patterns are now out of the way and not a main feature of the category bar. That’s what I mainly use the app for, it doesn’t make sense to me for it to be hidden on a tab instead of its own main feature. I just think the past design made sense and worked well. This feels like it’s trying to be a website and not an app and that doesn’t work well for functionality on a phone. Also what happened to the “coming up” feature for the patterns? That’s what was always so interesting to get to see the patterns that are coming soon so why is that gone? That’s actually one of the main ways to draw people to keep coming to your app, that’s why I do, to see how much closer that next pattern is coming so for that to not be there gives me no reason to keep coming back to your app because there’s no date or time I have looking forward too. I just think this new update was trying to be flashy and cool and new but wasn’t thought through much more with the changes and design.Show lessAlliePalmTree
The New Update is Horrible
Listen. I have really loved this app for years now. I love the accuracy I love it’s features. I just within the last cpl weeks subscribed to the pro version. But the newest update that happened overnight is absolutely horrible. I have thus since canceled my subscription and will probably be deleting the app. Which is really upsetting because as for the past couple weeks I’ve been using it multiple times everyday. I’m going through autistic burnout right now and this app was the only thing helping me keep it together. Now they don’t really care about the experience of their users. They say they want this app to make you feel seen and heard but for all of us neurodivergents out here they absolutely don’t care at all. Everything is so much harder to find. They tried to make it “pretty” but it’s just insanely difficult to find any of the features I usually utilize. It’s almost as though they tried to design it like a “wellness app” but this is supposed to be a tool for astrology. Not some overtly decorated funsies app. Please return it to what it looked like before because this is absolutely horrid. I’m autistic and ADHD and the new set up is just wayyyyy too over stimulating. I literally cannot go into it without feeling like I’m gonna have a panic attack trying to find what I need. They should atleast give us the option for which format we would actually want to use, like dark mode or light mode for iPhones.Show lessMaevine Rayne

I love the Pattern, and it is the first thing I read through every morning with my cup of tea to set the tone for my day. This new update has me confused though. It looks modern and all, but where is the part where people can write comments and connect with other members? And where is the feature where I can bookmark things I want to remember? New update (why?)
This app was so helpful to me & especially being neurodivergent. I kept my thoughts and journaled in this app. Kept up with a community, now it’s all gone due to the new update. The functionality is too much and hurts my eyes & is giving me a headache. It’s causing me serious sensory overload. Too many unnecessary changes. Upgrades are cool, but your are taking away the very essence and purpose of the app that’s what made people gravitate to it in the first place with this new update. It’s unfair. I absolutely love this app. There is so much you can dig into without paying anything and I think that is immaculate. I did finally cave and pay for a subscription because I had to know more and it is totally worth it! The one thing I would ask to make this app absolutely top notch is to add a family option aside from friend or romantic. I am very close with my family and we are all open and spiritual and I’ve been reading my mom her timing and patterns but I’d love to be able to dig into our pattern as family because I have to dig into romantic and friend to get a clearer connection for our bond. Add a family option and BOOM perfection. I would also love to be able to add my two kiddos and see our bonds and patterns as well! Please consider this? Either way.. this is my go to app. I open it almost everyday and I share my experiences with everyone willing to listen haha I’ve had a few people download it and I’ve added a few profiles so I can compare patterns and timing. So, I want to start out by saying I was very resistant to the changes that happened over time with this app. I loved it before and I think I just had a really hard time seeing the changes that happened as being positive. All that being said, since I’ve poked around on it a little more and decided to give the paid version a whirl about a week ago, I AM FLOORED by the wealth of information that’s been added to this entire app. I also love that they’re now actually talking about astrology openly (something I suspected was involved back in the day, now delightfully confirmed). And, this is unlike any other astrology app I’ve got, and this is coming from someone who is astrology obsessed and has been obsessed for the better part of 25 years! The paid version is where the “meat” is, so take the plunge and just do the lower amount one and see what all they have for you to chew on if you’re a commitment-phobe like me. Because everything about this app is packed with kind, encouraging, empowering information. And better yet, whoever the narrator has interest and flow to their reading and just the most calming, loving voice ever. I was a skeptic (putting it nicely) but and now 1000% all in. I used to LOVE this app for over 5 years! Every time I got a new device, this would be one of the first apps I’d redownload. I would always recommend this to friends and family. In recent years, they’ve been slowly adding more paywalls for the content. I don’t have an issue with this because I 100% understand that these apps are not free to operate but at a certain point, the subscription prices just seemed out of control. In no world does it make logical sense to even have an $80 or $10/month subscription option for any app. I know there are several people that are willing to pay that amount; I just might not be the target audience for this platform anymore and that’s okay. The options that are left in the free version of the app are so limited that it basically defeats the purpose of why I had the app for so long anyway.
Don’t let greed kill such a beautiful and innovative platform! I have no issues with the subscription plan concept because again, these apps and their developers do deserve money for their hard work. However, the pricing is outrageous now. As someone who watched these changes happen in real time over the years, it’s so sad to see everything that has been changed behind paywalls. A lower cost subscription model or at least not limiting the free version so much would’ve improved so many things with this app.Show lessscorpihoe114

I think this app is great and I have been using it since lockdown. The lady has a pleasant enough voice to listen to, without this extra background music feature.. which often appears to drown out the words. It also feels a bit glitchy since the new background images have been brought in. I can’t see the x symbol to cancel out of a screen because it’s hidden in these new backgrounds. Before it was a nice blue and everything was visible. Hopefully your developer won’t hate me..Show lessKFH25
