Description of Calc

Take care of your health and track your intake of a specific vitamin or mineral with the CANC - Nutrients counter! Sync of all micro and macro nutrients with the Health app is available. The app allows you to track the amount of incoming nutrients and identify their excess or deficiency in time. In addition to calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, fiber and water, you will have access to a report on more than 40 nutrients, including vitamins: A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, B12, C, D, E, and K; minerals: iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium, phosphorus, sodium, and potassium; as well as some other nutrients. All recommendations for daily nutrient intake are from the UK government open sources. In addition, you can set the required rate by yourself. The database contains information on more than 17 000 products, coming from authorized international organisations for example "U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE". There is also an option for users to update and increase it themselves. The Extended version of the application has the following advantages: • the ability to use the calendar; • the ability to view all graphs; • the ability to set your daily recommendation value for nutrients; • no ads; Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Reviews of Calc

  • Incomplete

For the most part it looks like a great program. Lacking access to some nutrient tracking due to lack of knowledge for guidelines. Also disappointed that some nutrients are not offered to track, example chromium , colbalt and threonine. Not sure if I can make this work for my needs with these missing components. Disappointed

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback! You can see that a progress bar for some nutrients is grey, it is because we didn't find a daily consumption recommendation for them, but you can set your own just by pressing on it. As soon as you set it, the progress bar will work. Please, use the "USA SR Legacy" food database (you can enable it in the Filters screen), there are 5080 products which have information about Threonine. Unfortunately we don't have data about Chromium and Cobalt right now in our DBs. We work hard to make the app design more user friendly.

I’ve been using this app for a few weeks now but I love how easy it is. I will definitely recommend this product to my friends and family🙃

  • I would really like to like this app

I was looking for an app that allows me to calculate more than just the basic parameters of my diet. Since I am restricting calories I would like to know if I am incurring any vitamin deficiencies at Cetera. This appears to be difficult to do. This app have the most promise for accomplishing this mission. However it is very cumbersome to use. Foods can only be entered in grams. While this may not be common in the US and common in Europe, for some things it is just inconvenient. For fresh fruits and the like, I don’t necessarily weigh before I eat them. I understand that makes it difficult to calculate exact numbers from the developer standpoint, but that is how we live. The database is also quite cumbersome with a heavy emphasis on cooked and prepared foods. Is nowhere near as easy to use as the Lose It! app that I typically use to monitor my dietary intake. Finally the app output data only in percentages of recommendations, which is not particularly useful to me. Recommended percentages are fine but I would like numbers also because my recommendations and the developers recommendations may be different. I will be deleting this app.

    Developer Response

Starting from the 2.13 you can change your recommendation income for any nutrient. An ability to use imperial units is available from the 2.19 version. P.S. Starting from the 2.22 version there is no need to weigh food, you can enter it in more understandable food portions such as a small or big apple, they are specified for a concrete food. Additionally, we updated the food search system, now it should be easier to find an appropriate one. All brand food should appear at the bottom of the search list. Hope, you will return to us :)
