Started well but app now doesn’t work
Response from developer
Hi, kindly note that we have released a fix which means you can now scan with your iPhone 16. Thank you very much for the patience.
Not compatible with iPhone 16
*update*
After contacting support I was told this app is not compatible with the iPhone 16 and no timeline when it will be available. Also, told they cannot refund for the portion of my annual subscription that I cannot use. I was told to contact Apple support for that. Apple won’t do anything about it. Waste of time and money. Thanks for that

Pros: there really isn’t any. The app is highly priced and the free version doesn’t show you anything. The scanning is supposed to be thermal, but I really don’t believe that it is, but we all know thermal scanning can be skewed based off just room temperature. There are far too many variables in play with that method. The app is supposed to show body fat, but again, how? I have a lot of experience with DXA and even in body; I have cool letters after my name from big institutions, and a love for science; my point is that I’m not just some guy who went to a weekend course and opened a garage gym with my parents money.
Cons: the app is over priced for the lack of output. There’s not real measurements. It doesn’t even care if your weight is accurate. There’s no control like a caliper/pinch, or manual measure test needed.
Overall, don’t waste your time like I did. I was really hoping this app was going to be a game changer. Hopefully the developer reads these and changes their style to be for the betterment of society and get rid of their monetary hunger.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Kindly note that we use depth sensors that takes 3D data, not temperature. The 3D data is used for calculating body composition, based on existing research papers published. We hope this clarifies some of your concerns. Any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us at support@bodymapp.com. Thank you and we wish you a lovely rest of your day.
Everything behind pay wall + other issues
won’t scan
Response from developer
Hi there, we apologise for the inconvenience. Please kindly check that your Face ID is working, to ensure that the depth sensor of your phone is working as this is the critical component to the 3D scans.
Great at first…
The next 2 scans were fine. They gave accurate picture of my body and correctly noted I’d lost some inches around my waist. Then I updated the app and things went wrong. When I scan myself now the upper image is quite accurate but the lower half is NOT MY LEGS. They’re as skinny as cocktail sticks and are not shaped like mine. It’s almost as if “default” legs have been used. This has happened twice now. Also my waist measurement is incorrect so my health score has taken a nosedive even though I’ve lost inches and weight.
I’m not happy because I wanted a reliable measure of inch loss for those days and weeks when I’m doing the work but it’s not yet showing up on the scale. There’s not even a way to get help on the app hence the review so someone can do something about this. I’m off to the gym to forget the confusing and erroneous results I saw today.
Please check the mapping feature. It’s definitely deteriorated!!
