  • Great tool!

Great tool for Djembe students! App interface is well organized and easy to follow.

    Thanks!
  • Love this drumming app

This is a gorgeous app that is well-organized and full of music to practice with and to learn more about the rich history and traditions of African drumming. You can listen to the entire ensemble or isolate the drum rhythms(s) you are interested in learning. Additionally, you can adjust the beats per minute to slow it down / speed it up as you learn. The volume for each drum is also individually adjustable. This app is very well thought out and designed. Worth a look!

  • Extremely helpful app

I used this app in addition to my djembe class to remind me about the rhythms. Even better, its various features—such as the ability to slow the tempo down, choose which parts I want to listen to, or make some parts more quiet than others—helped me practice between classes. It made learning way more fun.

  • Best Djembe ap ever!

I can not say how happy I am to have learned about this ap from another student in my drumming classes. This makes it so much easier to learn, practice and retain the different rhythms. The free version is a great place to start but I wanted to work on Yankadi and was happy to pay nominal upgrade charge to help support the artists that have put countless hours into this project so that we can all share and learn together!

  • Djembe life

This is they absolute best djembe and dunun instruction app. The layout and ease of operation the best I've seen and used!!! Not only is it the best for technique and tempo control but also it has great info about ethnic groups and regions in which each rhythm comes from!!!!! Cheers!
  • Get this app!

Stop reading reviews and get this app!! This is a huge resource, and straight from Mamady Keita himself! Full of rhythms, from beginner to advanced, including complete cultural and historical information for each one! You can isolate individual parts, even dunun bell patterns, plus hear how everything comes in off the signal. Put your headphones on, adjust the tempo, and you've got your own infinitely adjustable ensemble to play along with! Practice any part you want or solo on top of it all!

  • Awesome Resource!!

Djembefola contains a wealth of culture and information. It is well designed, easy to use and well thought out. As a music educator, I love how it explains specifically where each rhythm is from and its cultural significance. It also offer the option to separate parts and adjust tempo. It is obvious that a lot of care went into creating this valuable resource. This app is a must for anyone interested in West African Drumming!!

  • Great for hands, brain and heart

This is a fantastic resource for any level player, but especially ifyou're relatively new to the djembe it will give you an endless supply of avenues to explore, in as great detail as you could ask. So glad I happened onto this, it will definitely make me a stronger player and help me find new ways of expressing the joy of physical rhythm.
