The app won’t connect. I purchased this gunbox because of the app element. So disappointed. If someone from GunBox is reading this, please reply. For the price you pay for the gunbox, there are hundreds of better boxes w/ biometric fingerprint readers for cheaper. Yes, it looks nice. But the app is no reason for the additional price.
You would think and expensive item like these gun safes would have some support for their app that you have to utilize to program the thing...
The only reason I gave it 1 star instead of zero is because if yo Lu can get it to work then it allows you to program it. The menu section is useless and I can’t get the thing to connect consistently. I’ve tried everything even what the only person who gave this a 4 Star said. So disappointing!

i got my gunbox 2.0 today and was excited to utilize the app for the features it is supposed to have, like opening the box with your phone, app alerts if the box is moved, etc. every time i reopen the app, it needs to reconnect with the gunbox like it’s a new device that it’s never paired with before. i’m following the instructions and the instructions are telling me a different story than what the app is actually doing. at this point, my gun box is just a safe that opens with my fingerprint with no app capabilities. the app essentially does nothing. as it stands, the gunbox is really only worth between $100-$150. not cool, safetech. get it together
Ok, admittedly, SafeTech/Gunbox has done a poor job of instructing users HOW to use the app (one reason for the 4-star rating), but it DOES work. After messing around with it, I realized what it was trying to do:
As soon as it’s launched, it’s searching for your gunbox. Press the shield on your gunbox to initiate Bluetooth. Give it a minute, it will lock on. The only failure I’ve found is if you manually select gunbox from the product menu, then click the gray bar to connect, it never does (second reason for my 4-star rating). DON’T DELETE AND REINSTALL. Close the app and relaunch, press the shield button on your gunbox, then give it a second. It will find your gunbox. From here, press the settings icon on bottom right corner. From there, EVERYTHING works as advertised.
The app for the product is useless. It doesn’t do anything except make it harder to get into the device. The app makes you reattach the device every time to use your phone. Might as well just use the cards, key fobs, or whatever else to unlock it.
Just in case nobody has mentioned it, the app is, for all practical purposes, useless.

Just purchased my Gunbox 2.0 and it appears the app doesn't work correctly. Have to delete the gunbox and add the device back each time you want to use. Worthless!
I am experiencing the same problem as the others. App won't stay connected and I have uninstalled, restarted, checked for phone updates too. Please fix this as soon as possible or will consider a return of product
My wife bought two of the Gunbox 2.0 gun safes and while we love the boxes themselves the app is a complete waste. Simply put it just doesn't work as described. You have to add your box to the app every time you want to access it. Clearly it's not ready for production. We're using Bluetooth 4.2 on Apple iPhone 7 plus phones.
This app is complete garbage. Needs a lot of work. App keeps kicking me back. Does not remember my safe. I have to continuously "add my device" to the safe with the app. When I try to type in the password to open the safe the app crashes. The main reason I purchased this is because I have kids and wanted to be notified if it is opened. Waste.
