Convenient or not?

I downloaded this app after a Google search and a Condé Nast Travel article. It seems to offer destinations and prices but I’m not sure who doesn’t already know where to go? I want the lowest price flight and my dates are flexible, but why should I be asked to pay for an app that is already advertising to me? This is so confusing! They immediately ask for 5 bucks a month for what service? Knowing when it’s cheaper to fly?

SCAM! Do not even look at this app!

A few days ago I downloaded the Fareness app and I was looking to seeing what it offered. After a few minutes or so I wasn’t able to use the app without a prompt to get a subscription. There was a free trial and I chose to do that. There was even a message that I will be notified when my free trial is over. I browsed the app for sometime more and realized that it does not have what I am looking for. So I went and cancelled the app subscription the same day. However, I received a charge for the monthly fee on 2/6 when the free trial ended. This should not have occurred in the first place!! I cancelled the free trial! After contacting Apple I was notified to contact the developer for a resolution.
I would like to get the charge removed and reimbursed to my account. I did not find my experience with the app satisfactory and the info was very misleading. This is a scam.

Useless unless you subscribe

I should have figured it out when their website shut down and forced me to use the app. I tried downloading the app, but in order to use it you must subscribe to their service. It is no longer a free or even a cheap service unless you fly very frequently.

Why charge people to use it?

I used to love this app. But then the developers got greedy and decided to charge people just to use the app. That’s ridiculous. It’s one thing to charge people to get a certain discount when booking, but to charge people who just want to look at the flights? That’s insane. You aren’t even guaranteed to find a flight, so you are essentially paying to use the app and nothing more. I used to tell people about how great the app was but not anymore and I’m deleting it from my phone. Such a shame they ruined it.

New fee

Loved this app for so long and it used to be free but now all of a sudden they are charging. I do get everyone needs to make money, but obviously if I’m searching for cheap flights I’m on a budget lol. Just not looking to add another monthly subscription if Im only traveling a few times a year anyway. Such an awesome concept and was DEFINITELY great while it lasted.

Changes to site

I had been using the site with good results however now it will not allow for viewing without purchasing a subscription. Very disappointing.

Faulty app

It needs to be re-configured as it would keep taking me to the subscription page even when I had already signed up for the 3-day free trail

Highly Unsatisfied - Subscription Needed For Use

I saw this app on Instagram and figured I would check out the prices they were advertising. After downloading the app, I explored a few vacation spots and the app forced me to upgrade to the premium version. The app was completely useless without a subscription. Note for developers: allow people to book flights despite not having a subscription. They do offer a free trial but, I don’t think the app is even worth paying for. It’s ranked 35th in Travel on the App Store so there are plenty other apps ready to use without a subscription.

I know that you are able to use the app without a subscription however, it seems the primary way that this app gets money is from that subscription service. Also read the other reviews before downloading or subscribing to their service.

Do not use this company

Rating 1 star as we’d booked a trip through Fareness and given the recent pandemic, Fareness proved it would rather make a profit and ignore airline policies about the pandemic. It was impossible trying to locate customer service on the app. It only led to a feedback forum. The app lags itself - I have no idea where these 8k reviews came from

On top of that, this company is extremely low budget. I called their customer service and it was one single guy who was rude and had very little knowledge of what he was doing. He claimed he had policies in front of him, that were completely made up because they weren’t what the airline was globally communicating but the associate INSISTED he was right.

I called the airline and they said it was quite typical Fareness doesn’t follow airline policy and they consistently end up having to fix the issues.

Don’t use the app. Don’t use the company. You’ll waste your money.

Response from developer

Given that we earn $0 on bookings and that 100% of the fare paid is passed straight through to the airline, these accusations do not appear to be fair or accurate. We have no incentive to earn a profit by ignoring policies, since we do not drive any profit in this way. All ticket policies are set by the airlines, and we work on behalf of our customers to compel airlines to do the right thing when it comes to making changes or cancellations in times like this. That said, It's a highly dynamic time, and the airlines don't always communicate their up to the minute policies, established just hours prior, to agencies.

Scam don’t download

This app is a scam. I downloaded it to check on pricing for flights. No where on their app advertisement was there a mention of cost. Once downloaded terms of service was given which hidden within the statements was information on a monthly subscription charge. When I contacted them asking to please unsubscribe me they wrote I had to go through apple apps to get subscription cancelled. There’s no where to do that on my phone, nothing in subscriptions. Now I have to go through my Visa and file a fraud alert. This is so frustrating 😡

Response from developer

Hi there. It's always our intention to be transparent about the subscription model. When the free trial screen appears, the 3 day trial and $7.99/mo messaging is there. If you click to continue, your device displays a second message regarding the price and trial and asks you to double click the side button to continue. All Apple subscriptions can be stopped and started on the iOS subscriptions screen, and for reasons not clear to anyone, Apple doesn't provide us or any developer with the ability to see or control your subscription for you, which is why it can only be done on your device itself.
