was exited

the app started to work, i tried to upload a picture of a banana, then add it to today. it worked, tried to add it again, no rainbow wheel, but it just kept processing.

the app is showing duplicates for any photo thats in my library.

I saw there was an update, before i updated the app, things were kind of working. I was trying two things: heart rate/VO2 max and the food.

right after the update, everything started to hang and the photo import for food kept trying to process, then my phone started to get warmer.

normal protocol:
kill the app, re-launch
uninstall re-install
try again

the app froze, crashed and hung on what i was trying to, upload a photo or access the fitness option and try the VO2 max option.

sorry, if there are new features, either do a beta or alpha version.

im on the latest iOS, I want to try a simple thing and then tried to update, nothing works.

its a cool and informative concept, but its just going to frustrate and annoy me to try and find a work-around trying to track and eval lifestyle. It exiting, if the small things worked.

Response from developer

Hey Eurocar, sorry about that! The app should be working smoothly in the current and latest versions, especially for simple things like uploading food. It sounds like possibly a problem with your internet connection — are you on wifi or cellular data? If so, you may need to make sure Gyroscope has cellular data access to be able to connect and that it isn’t being blocked by some VPN or something similar. Please email support@gyrosco.pe with some more info and we will help you get it fixed!

Big fan

Really enjoying this app. Great central hub for everything health related

Great health app

It’s actually a fun app to use, finally something brings all this health data together. There are a couple little bugs but support is responsive and they seem to update frequently.

Well rounded app

The more I use Gyroscope, the more I learn to love it. For all its functionalities, especially with the journal’s notes process, this app is becoming the central app for all aspects of my health. I think Gyroscope is an incredible app with not enough recognition yet. The Gyroscope team is building something incredible. Bravo to them!

Long time user struggling with AI build

I’ve been using Gyroscope for years as a centralized place for my health data. It’s most recent “AI coach” build with the animation has been a challenge to use and I’ve not signed in as actively because of it. I’d love a classic mode that isn’t overly burdened with robots & aliens telling me what to do in voice mode. I just want my data visualization

Overpriced and glaring privacy concerns

My biggest issue with Gyroscope from the very start was “where is my data”? I can accept paying a premium sub for helpful visualizations, dietary and such if it is secure and the price is reasonable. My data matters and not even the so called vault feature is security I'm confident in after my experiences. I want to have control over it – which is not something I ever felt confident in re: Gyroscope’s data storage communication and lack of transparency. I also had a concerning correspondence with some Gyroscope employee about privacy concerns (the app tracks location data and depending on privacy settings can share it with friends list or even literally anyone with an account or anyone in the whole world) and my concerns about stalking, privacy, etc on the internet were met with the most brain-dead corporate cheer response of “we have many users who don’t mind sharing their location data 🥰”

Yeah no. Stay away from this app like the plague or at least keep location off and do be comfortable having questionable people access your data.

Hi Puma269 - oh no, sorry for the confusion here or not answering your question in a satisfactory way when you wrote into support before asking about the location permissions. Much more information about the privacy and how the places tracking works is available on the website - but it is a completely optional feature, and you can also adjust your privacy. So if you do not want anyone to see your locations, that is the default behavior and you can avoid adding friends or avoid making your location to public. Some people do want to track their places or share it with friends/the public, so we have that as an *optional* feature in the app for those people to be able to do, but if that is not what you do not want to do, then you absolutely don’t have to do it. Apologies if that was not explained completely clearly or possibly something got lost in translation before. So to be clear, you can also just not track your locations at all if it makes you uncomfortable. IF you are worried about stalkers or location data or anything, please do NOT make your account public! You can keep it private and just see it for yourself, or not use it at all if it does not interest you. The choice is yours! Hope that helps clear up any confusion about how the privacy settings work

Good but disappointing

When I downloaded the app about 6 weeks ago, I was thrilled. It seemed like the perfect bang for your buck. However, the development team continues to change which features are available. When I first subscribed, the food X-RAY was available at the pro level. After a couple weeks, they decided it should be moved to the next subscription tier. When I asked why, they told me it was a glitch, even tho that was one of the main reasons I bought the app. Every week and every update leads to more features being placed behind more paywalls.

Response from developer

Hey sus nick, sorry for the confusion here!! We have recently made Food XRAY available now for free to everyone — previously it was only in the Gyroscope AI+ and X levels. In the latest version, you should be able to take photos of your meals now and instantly see the protein and calories of the meals. We also do have a few higher levels beyond Pro if you want to add more coaching and analysis of the meals, like the food coach, meals grades, nutrient breakdowns and more. These advanced details are not available on Pro unfortunately, and so sorry for any confusion about that before. For most people, the calories, protein and food timings/fasting times will be the most important variables to manage to lose weight so the ability to simply and easily set those targets up and see your trends in those categories is the main feature in the free and Pro tiers.

Mmm…disappointed with new update

Was considering purchasing the AI version of this app as I was thoroughly enjoying it. Now I not sure as this update just removes the cqrbs and the fibre option in my food tracker. How do I know they won’t do that to the paid version? What am I truly gonna pay for? Very disappointing update

The one app to open each day!

I've been immersing myself in the functionalities of the Gyroscope app for a while and I must say, it has been immense, in a good way. The clarity with which it presents valuable information and its simultaneous ability to consolidate my daily routines and how they correspond with my aspirations, is nothing less than awe-inspiring. It's as though an individualised Ai mentor is guiding you towards the ultimate version of yourself that you aspire to be. The extensive guidance on diverse facets like sleep schedules, physical exertion levels and mental well-being have been remarkably insightful, particularly garnering my attention. Needless to say, I open this app every day to achieving a healthier and more sound physique and mental state of mind. There is more to this app than I can put in a review!

Underrated health app

This is a very underrated and feature packed health app - after using it for a few weeks at time of writing and getting to learn all of the features, I’m surprised that I didn’t hear about it sooner! Basically this app gives you several categories of your health to focus on - sleep, body fat, mental well-being, etc. As you use the app more and it gets a better picture of your health, it’ll give you a grading based on how well you’re doing (proud to say almost all of my categories are at least an A!). Now, I could probably extrapolate all this data myself from the Health app but Gyroscope actually gives meaning to that data and gives you actionable insights to improve it and an easy way to visualize your progress. Just to end off, I’d like to say the support team is super helpful and responsive! They helped me get a more affordable plan since I’m a college student, which is super cool of them!
