Good app, serious flaw…
I really like using this app precisely because it is simple and that is the way it should be for notes. I just recently got an iPad with the Apple Pencil, and it is a fantastic combination, but the Apple Notes app was completely not up to the task. In my use for handwriting, which I do a lot of for working with problems and ideas, I found it draining my battery life disproportionately. After 20 minutes of journaling it took 10% of my battery with it! I charged my iPad to full, hooked it up to charger with a watt meter, and measured the power draw. The ipad at the medium brightness is hovering around 1.5 watts, when writing its hanging around 7-9 watts, and peaking at 11 watts! I switched to good notes for handwriting, and using the same brightness, still fully charged, and plugged in to that watt meter, it was hovering around 2 watts, much better. I went to the internet to see if others have this issue, and it is a well documented issue. I do not understand how apple can have this kind of an issue on the Notes app. It is supremely disappointing and I hope they fix it. Until then I will go ahead and do the one time purchase of Goodnotes 6 for my handwriting uses.

I can’t use it
This is probably a message for customer support but I thought I’d make it public recently I’ve run out of space on iCloud and locally so I’ve missed a few updates and recently I opened notes to write something down and all my notes were gone I thought it was just being buggy but then when I pressed the create new note button it just said “to create a new note please directly upgrade your notes” I don’t know if this is a problem with my storage space or with the software but it’s an absolute pain and I’ve had to write down my notes in my very volatile electrochemical central neural network short term memory system which restricts space for more important tasks such as conversations or as you can see with this review punctuation anyway my point is I can’t use it which is slowly driving me insane and I hope I’ll remember to research my problems and manually fix this problem and change my rating to five stars until then it’s 1 star good night I need sleep

Lots of issues with the latest update
Update: This is STILL super buggy. My notes are my life literally and all these bugs make it hard for me to take notes. Not only that but it gets stuck and can’t type at times and then it just blurts out random letters and doesn’t auto-correct the word I “correctly” tried to type. Taking notes was so easy, smooth and fast and now it just takes time to write simple notes when the whole app is so buggy and slow. Please fix this asap I beg you. 🥺😢
So when I move the cursor to try to type something it randomly moves it somewhere else then I try to find what it did to correct it but I end up just shaking the phone to undo it. And I don’t like that I can’t see where it undid whatever I did. Also when I move the cursor to type, it highlights like a full sentence and deletes it. This is scary, I have always trusted this app but it does weird stuff I gotta really pay attention at EVERYTHING I do now cause it could end up deleting something without me even knowing about it since it does it randomly. Also when I try change the font style on something that’s indented, it moves the text more to right. If I click another style to change it keeps moving it further to the right and so on. Please fix this! It used to be easier to use! 😩 Also please 🙏🏻 add more highlight colors! This addition is my top favorite of the latest update! Been waiting for this moment! But would love to see the whole color spectrum on it someday!

Apple software tends to fall short thesedays
Good notes app, very annoying and limiting in ways that make in not viable for more use cases outside of random personal notes. When i use it, i find myself fixing formatting that Google Docs foes automatically. An example being numbered bullets not continuing if they have sub bullets. Theres no option for setting a bullet value (if the number is 1, you cant manually change it to 2). If i bold a word at the top of a paragraph or section, every following word or bullet is bold and i have constantly unbold it and spend more time adjusting formatting that, for a trillion dollar company, is fair to expect solutions for. I find notes to be a great option for very basic note taking but anything beyond, falls into the same Apple trap as usual where key features are missing, app is not thought-through based or real life use cases and things are bugged and annoying to the point where its no longer usable. This is what ive come to expect from a once legendary company. Ive love to learn what Apple execs use for their note taking.

Amazing to an extent
Its new update brings AMAZING new features! One especially being the collapsible notes. However, I have 2 major problems which prevent me from turning it to my main note-taking source. Firstly, you cannot import files and then edit them from there. You can do this on the files app, but it doesn’t feel as good. It would also help if you could add more aesthetic features and options, such as protractors or more customisation - many little things which could make a big difference in general. Secondly, it would help if it was less laggy. I have the brand-new iPad and thought it was because I was multi-tasking, but it really was the app itself and not my device or what’s running. I would love it if you could hear me out on this, thanks!

Good, easy to use, looks good
Just lacking alot of essential, basic features.
-Text size, there need's to be far more flexible options than the few premade existing sizes.
-Lack of fonts. I understand copyright may be an issue, but surely you can allow the downloading of fonts in the app.
-Lack of sizes for images, the options are either too big or small, sometime's I just want an image to accompany my text, but its hard when a single image takes up a whole page
-Add the ability to draw, highlight over text instead of sectioning off where you can draw.
-Add the ability to change the color theme of the app instead of just black/white and yellow. Its boring.
In general, just look at samsung's notes app. I understand copyright issues, but its far superior in the amount of features it has.

Freezes and lags
I use this app a lot. I’m a writer so my notes are quite long but they were working fine before. They lagged and were jittery a little when I scrolled but nothing too bad. After the iOS update though, they’re terrible. Every time I open the app it takes a while to load and the moment I click on my main note that I like to write in it freezes. I can’t access that note unless I go through iCloud, it’s so stupid! Please fix this quickly!

Undo button not working
I have never had a problem with this app until once when I accidentally deleted something, that the undo button wasn’t working so I had to redo all my work. It was a lot and I was so disappointed when it was gone. I hate this app.
Used to be great; Now is terrible.
I used to use the Notes app to remember and keep track of lots of things. Unfortunately, it has become impossible to rely on. For at least a year, the Notes app lags a lot, glitches, and freezes. It is possible that this only happens with larger notes. However, if there is a “character limit” to each note, that would be nice to know. (There’s no character limit started anywhere in Notes. The app just lags when you start trying to type, then it spits out some of the letters you typed, and sometimes those letters appear halfway down the note for some reason, even when you start typing from the top). However, as of this morning, it appears I can no longer use the app. I literally cannot open at least 2 of my important Notes that I use everyday. I’m assuming this has something to do with my iPhone updating itself to the newest iOS overnight. There is no way to print or email myself the note, so that I can easily see and use the information. Also, Apple is hard to get in touch with, as far as customer service goes, regarding an app that comes standard with their iPhones. And Apple has been unresponsive thus far in my attempts to get this Notes debacle resolved. Apple — Please fix the Notes app ASAP, and please don’t push updates that break the app. Thanks.
