Great buuuut disappointing

This is a great fun way to learn guitar and I’m really enjoying it, however, my main bugbear is why it keeps telling you to wear headphones, I just don’t want to, I want to hear my guitar, my amp and the sounds around me. When it plays without headphones the sound is muted, why?? Secondly I’m paying £100 a year on a subscription and you want another £200 to play famous songs ?? Seriously that’s a con. Fender app is one subscription and access to it all, up your game Gibson this could be the best app apart from the headphone thing and trying to fleece £300 a year from people, I probably won’t renew my subscription

Hi there, Thanks for the review. It seems that you are using our app in "no headphones mode." The backing track will be slightly muted, as this allows the app to accurately detect your guitar playing without confusing it with the backing track of the song you’re playing. Regarding famous songs: when adding famous songs to your subscription, you will be refunded your initial purchase of £100 and then charged £150 for the new subscription, which includes the famous songs. The advertisement was for a seven day trial, which I selected, but was billed immediately

UPDATE: CREDIT was applied very quickly to my account. I had not had a 7 day trial prior so I am not sure what happened but regardless, it was taken care of swiftly and fairly! Thank you very much.

On another note, I absolutely love the app. I’ve used many apps along the way but this one is easy, structured in a way that works well for me, and motivates me to play. My Gibson arrives any day! I can’t wait to use it with this app!

OLD review:
I was supposed to have a seven day trial. That’s what I selected. Immediately my credit card was charged. I don’t know if I want to keep the app after seven days and I certainly don’t know if I want to pay monthly or buy a year membership, but I was immediately charged, please refund and allow me seven days to evaluate so I know if I want it and I want the monthly annual subscription. There is where it says we can connect with Customer Service but I can’t connect with anyone so unfortunately, unfortunately I have to write this as a crappy review. please refund me rating on my review. Appreciate your immediate attention.

Hi there, What appears to have happened is that you may have signed up for a monthly subscription or had a free trial in the past. In both cases, the 7-day free trial is not available. The 7-day free trial is only offered when signing up for the yearly subscription and is limited to one per user. New monthly plan is a con

I decided to subscribe again and catch up on the songs I was playing in my previous subscription. After signing up again Gibson stated that all previous songs were still available under the old plan. However this is not the case as there is now a premium to pay over the top of the normal subscription to get famous songs. Seriously consider this before purchasing. Cancelling and requesting a refund

Couple Problems

The app is fun and works great but could you add a couple of stuff? It will really be a dig improvement if you add these two things… - Please provide a little warm up for when you get into the app? I am really busy and sometimes don’t have enough time to play my guitar and jumping straight into what I was learning can be challenging and frankly extremely upsetting. - Can you also make levels that know your skill level specifically and will help you to open new areas with confidence. When I follow the main course, it just assumes my skill level and puts me on the course everybody takes. Adding these would definitely enhance your app and make the fee that we all pay worth it! Oh also I forgot, will you PLEASE add a feature that teaches you how to read sheet music notes so if we want to go professional, we can? One more thing, you should add a feature where you can create your own music and play it so if you ever forget it, you can come straight back to it.

Hi there, Thanks for the great feedback and wonderful suggestions! In the guides section of our app, we do have "Scale Workout" lessons which we feel could also be used as warm-ups. However, we are looking into ways to improve upon this. We would love to hear your opinion on these "Scale Workout" lessons. Tailored lessons specific to your skill level are a great suggestion, and it's something the team is considering for the near future. Great app, helps you learn full songs and more

Edit: I had an issue with the app where songs were disappearing and the support team was very responsive and helped resolving the issue, the app had unfortunately changed my region on both devices it was installed. Ready to rock again, added one more star Would be 5 stars if less expensive and in few more optimizations e.g. in lessons, sometimes UX could be improved so you don’t click skip so many times or watch an intro leading to not much. Chapters and in the video lessons would be also helpful even though it’s already helpfully broken down

Great app…when it works

FIX YOUR SERVERS!!!

Another update: Unable to open the app at all. Reinstalling and trying to login results in a JSON error. Frankly, this is a great app broken by poor backend performance. Losing a star for wasting my time tonight. Will practice using Fender Play or Songsterr because they work.

Update: Latest update broke the app. After reinstalling, everything works again. Third time in my first month of using this app and I’m unable to practice due to continued server errors and software glitches. This time it’s “error loading game data”. This app can be great, but let’s face it…if you hired the best guitar instructor in the world and they didn’t show up for your lesson three times you’d find someone else. Server issues aside, I’ve had some of the most informative and productive guitar lessons in decades using this app. I’ve learned two basic skills that no other app, not even an actual guitar instructor (actually, he didn’t show up much either), has shown me. I feel like I’ve taken a huge step forward.

Great great resource for anyone wants to self learn

I’ve been a fan of Rock music for a long time and finally decided to start learning electric guitar. I have watched many resources online, they are helpful, but I’ve never really start to have steady progress daily until I downloaded THIS APP! It’s just SO SO GOOD, in every aspect.

PS. I design apps for living, and by the design and user experience standards, this app is ALSO TOP NOTCH!!!!
