Apogee Control for Element Series & Ensemble TB User Reviews

Bummer

Had high hopes for this company. Seems they’ve taken a steep nosedive these past couple of years. Compatibility issues constantly with both macOS and iOS. Support is no help. For how expensive their products are you’d think they’d be a bit better. Oh well.

Pretty Useless

Not impressed with this app. It has minimal functionality and why is the scaling so large? It should be possible to see all of the settings on a single screen without having to scroll. No mixer functionality either. Very poor implementation.

No support

Apogee haven't updated this apps in years. It's not working very well - mute doesn't register, unable to see inputs or make adjustments to them. It only serves as preamp volume control. Apogee need to get their software department in order to provide the experience expected for their great hardware

Great App but...

You have everything you need in this app. Nothing cooler than walking around my studio with my iPad or iPhone while setting input gain for the whole band. I also have a dual station setup which requires me to be away from my ensemble Thunderbolt unit at times...awesome to have full control over all the ins in those moments. now here's the issue...this app is still missing a ton of features. No doubt it is to keep the app lean and to the point it would still be nice to have different tabs to do different things such as put it in direct monitor mixer modes so that I can offer my clients one of my 4 iPads so that they can have a touch screen access to their own independent mixes. JUST a thought....other than that this is powerful stuff here

Works perfect

Apogee developed a great app that I use with the Element 88.. it’s easy to use and I’ve never had any issues.

Does not connect - same wifi

Does not connect - unable to find device.
I am using the same wifi network on both my iMac and iPhone.

My equipment is:

iMac late 2013 - macOS Catalina
Apogee Element 24
iPhone 11 Pro

ADAT/SMUX Levels

Am I missing something? I downloaded demo and read (I think) all the lit. I’m not seeing that the optical input channel levels are controllable. That would be silly, so I’m just checking in.

Mixer control - PLEASE

Currently this is just a preamp controlling app. If you were able to control the various software mixers that are available in the OS X app then this iOS app would be amazing - musicians would be able to sort their own monitor mixes. Please add this functionality, realise your app’s full potential and I’ll happily give you 5 stars!

A good start

The app works well as far as it goes. I have it up on my iPad next to my Mac and that allows me to adjust levels and mute monitors without switching windows on the Mac. If the mixer were also accessible from the iPad, this would be a huge help, and result in a 5 star rating.

Too basic right now

This app should include a Mixer section and the ability to engage more than one set of speakers at a time.

Need expanded functionality in order to use this as a legitimate replacement for fiddling with the desktop app.
