The increased my engagement in hard work trying to learn more about my favorite thing in the world which is music

Dreams Deferred

As a child taking piano lessons, trying to learn to read sheet music produced so much anxiety that despite my love of the instrument I quit taking lessons. Now as an adult I am pursuing my passion again and I am thankful to have come across this APP! It makes understanding the notes as they appear on the staff very practical. I am encouraged to believe with practice I will soon be on my way to being able to read and play piano music! Thank you for this APP

Very useful!

I have been looking for a note/sight reading beginner kind of app and this one nails it. Thanks so much for creating this. Highly recommended!

Simple but effective

I’m a 50 year young woman learning to read music. This app is simple and is what I was looking for to test my knowledge of where notes are on the staff (for when I didn’t want to actually play my instrument). It allows me to hear the note as choose them. It also gradually introduces more notes as I get better at selecting the note that is shown on screen, which makes it game-like and fun.

Initially I thought it would be good to be able to switch off the timer for how quickly you have to choose the notes, but it actually gets you into the swing, or habit of making choices quickly so you can react, read and therefore play the notes quick enough for what sheet music would require.

So far, I think it suits my needs perfectly. Great job. And having no ads is fantastic!

Love it

I’ve struggled with sight reading for years. This app is fantastic. After 2 days I’ve already noticed an improvement.

Best app for sight reading exercise

What I love about this app is the ability to customize almost everything in order to target your sight reading practice.

You can choose to practice only treble clef, or bass clef or both.
You can choose only high notes above the treble pentagram, or low notes below the bass pentagram.
You can choose different difficulty levels, or free practice.
You can choose intelligent mode which automatically targets the notes that are more difficult for you, and helps you practice them more.
Also the piano sound is really nice and realistic. Many sight reading apps use a synthetic sound that can become annoying very quickly.
You can use the built in keyboard or your own instrument using the mic.
...and other good stuff.

Any bugs that I have seen mentioned in other reviews have been fixed, apparently, because I don’t have any problems with my paid version of this app.

I took an excellent online sight reading course in Udemy, and now I use this app exclusively to practice what I learned. I’m glad I purchased this app.

Notes Reader

For Β£1.99, this is well worth the money. Without a doubt, this app will help anyone who struggles reading music to acquire a basic or even advanced knowledge of notation. I’m more of an aural musician, but being able to read music is (pardon the pun, but) instrumental in the process of learning to play and is a highly valued skill for anyone seeking to do so. I think there is room for improvement, for example; being able to learn symbols other than notes or identifying chords etc but other than that, it is a fairly priced and useful tool I’d recommend it to anyone.

Great app! Really helping me.

I really enjoy this. It’s simple but very good. In the unpaid portion, you can learn at your own pace. If you miss a day, just go back and redo a round that has less notes and progress again. I have only missed one day in the week ive had it. As long as i continue to use it, i have every intention of upgrading. And, yes, if you are using this constantly, you should be paying the very nominal cost to upgrade.
