Doesn’t really work...
Downloaded this app as a helping hand as I’ve recently embarked on a vegan-based diet switch up. The first item I scanned wasn’t recognised, but I was a bit disappointed to realise that I had to guess whether the product was vegan myself, and either give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. That was an instant thumbs down for the app to be honest. I thought I’d be able to check if a product was vegan by scanning the barcode, just like in My Fitness Pal where you can scan a barcode to find out the calories, carbs, protein etc of a product. I’m still on the hunt for an app that does this, as this one isn’t it. Wouldn’t use or recommend, sorry.

App Functionality
There is an issue with the functionality of the app.
If you scan a product and rate as thumbs up or thumbs down and submit no problem.
BUT you then scan another product and an image of the previous product appears with the name of the new product you have just scanned. I thought this was just a one off but it happens pretty consistently to be a one off. Very annoying so the app that you are paying £19 a year for needs to be improved. Otherwise a nice idea.

Nope
Scanned an item, app crashed. Scanned a different item and it ASKED me if I thought it was vegan or not... I thought that’s what this app was supposed to do?! So I assumed that item wasn’t in a database yet and was gathering crowd info instead. Gave it another shot and scanned a different item, same question.... went to try again... and I’m locked out for an hour for scanning unless I paid money. Deleted the app within a minute of downloading.

Unhelpful
Tried it on three vegan items in my pantry and couldn’t find the items each time. One was a packet of oats! It seems like I’ll be inputting details on whether the food item is vegan more than gaining any help.
Why?
Why would I want an app to rate if I think a product is vegan or not?
Could be improved
I'm recently vegan and love to use this app because it is very convenient but I feel like it could be improved. As I do also have a food tracker app, those apps have all of the nutritional information available when you scan the barcode, I tried scanning an item with milk products in it and it doesn't give a definite yes or no, just a vote. It's a great idea and the voting is great for products with bar codes not yet logged into the app, but I would most preferably like a definite yes or no if it is vegan or not.

Disappointed customer
For an app with a 4 star rating it’s absolutely horrible, it doesn’t actually tell you if it’s vegan or not it just gives you a check mark and it’s not exactly helpful it also doesn’t know basic food brands like a popular brand of vegan bread. Honestly if you want to use a quick and easy app that tells you if it’s vegan use the app is it vegan? It’s not any better but it’s more useful than this app.

Helpful and easy, however it’s based on other people’s opinions if it’s vegan, not based on factual evidence. I always double check to make sure on some items like alcohol. Still a good app :)
why you should not get this app
If I could I would rate this zero stars. This app is a complete waste of time and energy. The app doesn’t register any barcodes I have tried and the product is not found. Even when it does it only comes up with a rating of wether people think it is vegan or not. So in conclusion DO NOT GET THIS APP IT IS SO BAD
