  • Waaay too short!

This game is too expensive for the 1 1/2 hrs of gameplay.
  • Wonderful adventure game!

This puzzle adventure game will bring you from herding cows in the mountains in Norway to outer space to battle an evil alien. It’s beautifully animated and the overall feeling is endearing. The puzzles are also very fun to solve and not overly hard.
  • Great little experience

Played it in two seasons and despite what others say I don’t mind that it was “short”. It was exactly as long as it needed to be. I honestly don’t have time to play through an epic 40 hr adventure which is why I love mobile games like this. I get to have all the same nostalgia and fun and finish the game too. Soundtrack was fantastic and is definitely worth putting on headphones.

  • Beautiful little gem

It took me a while to get into the rhyming descriptions, but it’s got a wonderful charm to it all, and some good humour. The story is compelling, and the graphical presentation does a lot with a little. Recommended!
  • IPad Pro 12.9” users read this then buy!

If you’re using an iPad pro 12.9” then when you get to the part where you need to let the wood dry on top of the hill, it may take quite a few tries and you need to be in just the right spot before the wood will drop. You need to be right at the top, slightly to the left of the centre of the cairn. It took me about a dozen tries, the game was made for a regular sized ipad and although the image scales up for the larger ipad pro, apparently the responsive area for this particular puzzle does not, so it’s only a relatively tiny patch of the image where you can drop the wood. But...

Don’t let that put you off! This is a thoroughly delightful, charming game full of innocent joy.
I’ve never played a game with anything quite like the same mood before. It would be an ideal game for parents to play with their child/children, but is fiendish and funny enough to satisfy adults anyway.

I’ve kept below my initial one-star review (!!) and the developer response. And to any game developers out there, notice how much of a difference it can make when you DO read reviews and respond.

    First Review:

    1 star. Title: Bugged!

I spent AGES trying to get to get through just the first few screens of this and I hate using walkthroughs. Eventually I resorted to a walkthrough as I couldn’t dry the wood whatever I tried. The walkthrough said leave the wood under the cairn at the top of the mountain, screenshot included. It was something I’d already tried a hundred times (I’d tried leaving the wood out to dry pretty much everywhere by this time, but the top of the mountain was my first choice).
Ok, I tried again just like in the screenshot to no avail, it won’t go there.
So I thought maybe things have to be done in a certain order (I’d already made the butter, maybe doing that prematurely confused it). So I restarted the game from scratch. Nope, I can’t leave the wood out to dry by the cairn. Obviously other people have managed it, but on a 12.9” iPad pro, I’m having no luck leaving the wood out to dry at all. I’m also getting tired of our protagonist telling me it’s a stupid idea when according to all the walkthroughs (I’ve triple checked now) that’s what I need to do.

Going into outer space? I can’t even get off the farm!
I’ll hang on for a week to see if it’s a simple bug fix, If I’m still stuck on the first few screens I’ll get my money refunded. I’ll update this review whatever happens.

    Developer Response

Hi, and sorry to hear you're having trouble drying the wood! I don't have the big iPad pro, but on my 10" iPad pro I can drag and drop the wood directly on the cairn. Try dropping it on top of the rock pile and hopefully you'll see some progress! Best of luck!
  • If you like point and clicks, you’ll like this!

It’s not a long game, but it’s charming and great fun. Love games like this and will hope for a sequel!!
  • EXCELLENT

Thoroughly enjoyable. Look forward to more from Mathis Folkestad. Really pleasing to play and the rhyming adds extra enjoyment. Loved the protagonist Ruth even when her mounds hit the ground 😉. I was one of those who got stuck so I appreciate Machineboy (Appunwrapper) but I have no doubt for most it will be challenging, fun and doable. I’m just sorry it’s over, for now. Maybe we will get to follow Ruth in her universal travels (fingers crossed).

  • Disappointed

Played monkey island years ago. What a game. This is on a par with gameplay. Unfortunately I finished it in an hour. For 3.99 I felt ripped off. Far too short for the money.
  • I don’t want

I wish for you to refund my money as I do not want this game
  • Cute :)

Nice little puzzle game, took a few hours to complete, hope to see more!
