Turn sideways on an iPad

I’ll give it 4 stars when we can turn the app sideways on an ipad!
Really good app otherwise!

Tik Tok Trash - STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM

This app is absolutely useless unless you are paying for it & also giving over a lot of your personal information as well so you can "activate your profile".
It is a combination of short TikTok style videos with a throw together of a couple of lines of instructions with the rest of the instructions hidden for any recipe you want to look at & you have to pay to access the rest of the information.
Also looking at the profiles of the people that have "posted their creations" they all look fake with every one of them having the exact same number of dishes posted.
I recommend anyone to go to their website as well which boasts numerous "Top Teir" hotel chain logos but the website is also completely vague with little information that I highly doubt any of these top teir hotels would be associated with this mess of a company that could potentially have their staff poached from them.

Best Chef App

Gronda is truly amazing.
Inspiring,creative,astonishing.
Worthwhile paying for the subscription and have access to all the content.

Good concept. Very smooth and sensible displays. Needs a little work

Overall I find this app to be very helpful in connecting me to chefs that I typically would never know of or meet. It is definitely a great medium to learn more of the inside of the high end restaurant world. The masterclasses are good in novelty but are not these end all be all resources for how to do everything they are teaching you. It’s an idea and then a short application for it. I do fine with them but I think a less experienced chef may struggle a bit. For the problems. Some recipes are supposed to be written with the ingredient amounts. The way the instructions are written you can tell they should be posted and a while back every pro recipe had the ingredient list. I no longer see any of the ingredient lists on any recipes. Once I tried to see if family sharing of the app worked. I went to log out and when I went to use my Apple account to log back in (the way I created the account) I couldn’t log in I reached out to customer service and there was no way of tracking my Apple ID or my email address back to my account. This isn’t a huge problem because customer service was prompt in helping me get a new account via email address (which they have a record of) and reactivating my Gronda pro for me. My only down side is now I can’t verify my Gronda pro account. I have overall had a good experience, but they definitely need to work some kinks out.

Could be better

I paid for it on iPhone and can only use it on that device. My iPad shows I paid but won’t let me watch videos. What a dud

Response from developer

Hey! Sorry to hear that. Can you send us an email to martina@gronda.eu and tell us which email you used for the login? We would like to help you resolve the issue. Thank you!

Don’t bother

Paid for yearly subscription and still not able to access the pro recipes. Can only watch a video on mute and not able to read the method and cooking process. £ 52 lost

Response from developer

Hey! I am sorry that the PRO membership is not working properly for you. Please send an email to martina@gronda.eu to get your PRO membership up and running so you can enjoy all the recipes & techniques on Gronda! I am happy to help.

Pale

The idea is fantastic. Chefs sharing recipes and ideas with other chefs. But it seems like 75% of the contributors are just using Gronda as a photo gallery. A small percentage of the entries have an actual recipe. I can get better ideas for free on Instagram.

Can’t login with apple signin

Can’t sign up with apple sign in. Says “not providing the current time is deprecated. Please pass instance of datetimeinterface” (signup screen) then if i try to login it says incorrect password

Had to delete

There was notification badge that I couldn’t clear within the app despite going through all the menus.

Great concept, really janky

There’s a lot of excellent information in the many videos and recipes on here, it’s a great source to learn many molecular gastronomy techniques. But the app has a terrible amount of bugs. Often times I’m unable to watch a video without it buffering, and when I close the app and reopen it, it still doesn’t work. I would say it’s worth a download if you’re into the molecular gastronomy style of cooking, but I would not recommend getting Pro. I was getting 2-3 notifications a day for recipes paywalled behind Pro. I eventually caved in and the videos almost never load, when they do they stop about half way through and buffer endlessly. It also has a terrible interface, it’s confusing in what it wants to be. This app has a really long way to go, while I’d still recommend it to a few of my chef friends, I will warn them about the issues and bugs this app has. I look forward to when I can actually watch videos, and not feel like I wasted money.
