  • Obsolete!? (Updated)

**Edited after clarification from the developer thank you. **

I’m very happy that our hardware is not obsolete and we can continue to use the new app. We absolutely love our devices and find them invaluable in our apartment in Europe where there is no mechanical air circulation.

    ————————————

Yesterday I would have given my units and hub 5 stars, but today the app notified me that the 2900 series app is obsolete and will not be updated. Luckily consumer law in the EU allows for 2 years, so, sadly my units are going back for reimbursement. In addition there are no upgraded consumer units on the market that I can find. I am evaluating other manufacturers.

Hi there! It's possible there might be some confusion we'd like to clarify - you can download and use the new Airthings app available on the App Store if you have other Airthings Wave products with the following serial numbers: Wave Mini (SN 2920), Wave Plus (SN 2930), and Wave Radon Gen 2 (SN 2950). The new Airthings app supports these Wave monitors, Airthings View monitors and Airthings Hub. It's only Wave Gen 1 users with serial numbers starting with 2900 that should continue to use the Wave Gen 1 app and it will still be available for these users. If you have a Hub in your setup, it's also unlikely you have a Wave Gen 1 monitor since they are not compatible with Airthings Hub devices. Please reach out to us at support@airthings.com and we'll be happy to help you further!

  • Unresponsive Support

Installed the Radon detector today. It seems to be working. The app communicates with the device. However I don’t see the device listed in my iPhone bluetooth device list as either connected or not connected. The app is able to send a command to the device and syncs without a problem. If I turn off iPhone bluetooth the app reports no bluetooth available. When I ask support why I don’t see the device listed I get a nonsensical response, eg try replacing batteries even though the batteries show full, the device is new, device is communicating with app. I think the company is relying on faulty AI even though they show a photo of a person on the email they send.
