Makes me aware

I have pulled my hair since I was a small child. In fact, it’s the very first memory I have. I have never been able to stop, and I am 45 years old. This app, that I can’t even believe IS an app, has helped me realize just how often I’m pulling and what’s triggering it. I force myself to log an entry every single time I catch myself pulling or almost pulling my hair. Hopefully this will help me break the cycle. Thank you for creating this app.

Use this app ASAP

I stopped pulling because of this app. And it took 3 whole days!! That’s it :)

I’ve been a puller for 25+ years, on and off. Generally the the only thing that worked for me was keeping my hair short. But I like long hair. I’ve been trying to grow a beard, and that’s been the pulling spot for me lately.

And to my surprise, because I stopped pulling my anxiety is much lower.

Pulling was actually making me more anxious, not the other way around.

Good luck everyone!

Useful for awareness

This app doesn’t necessarily stop my hair pulling, but it does make tracking and recording my impulses to pull much easier. I do notice I now have greater awareness of my triggers, and it does make me stop and think about what I’m doing. It’s also useful to see a record of all the times of day and situations when I feel the urge.

Truly a Blessing

The people behind TrichStop are wonderful and so many could benefit from their work. This app has helped me greatly on my own and I intend to enroll in the TrichStop program soon.

This app is sooo good !!

At first I was skeptical but I still downloaded because I wanted to try and stop pulling my hair I’ve been pulling my hair since I was six I’m now 11 it first started with my eyebrows my eyelashes my nose hair and now my real hair on my head.

I understand some people think other things work like things you put on your fingers and gloves but this app is amazing if you don’t wanna use those
The reason why am writing is to say how amazing this app is I know you have to pay 200 pounds and upwards but I did it the freeway

1. You have to know when you’re pulling I understand when I do it and like some people don’t know that they’re doing it but luckily I do.

2. How I did it the free way was when I started pulling I would quickly jump to the app and write how I was feeling when I was pulling and my urges on the app that is a scale from 1 to 10 how bad the trigger was mine is usually around 7 and up to 10.

3.But as soon as I deleted the app because I thought my Trichotillomania was getting better I soon discovered how much this app has really helped me when I had it so I am deciding to get it again because this app is truly amazing

4. You also have to understand what has made you do it or pull your hair and for me I thought I had nits but I didn’t, another great thing to do is keep a diary but because of this app I didn’t need to keep a diary because this one was really secret to me and I felt like my mom would either sneak in my room and read it this one was just for me to read or this app to read.

5 . Bye

Update for new IoS and Screen sizes

Hi,

Can you please update this to work with my iphone x?

DISAPPOINTED

You have to pay to use this app total cost £200+ if your willing to pay this much for a online treatment when you can go to a real therapist then your sick in the brain! Very angry and disappointed.

ok

How do you reset??

Efficient, Quick Logging. This app sincerely "gets it" and wants to help.

This app has helped me to identify when, where, why, in what location, scenario etc. my trich episodes take place, so I can be more aware when I start pulling subconsciously. I usually HATE tracker-style "productivity" apps where you have to like manually log everything, but this app is different for several reasons. It allows me to log QUICKLY & efficiently and doesn't force you to fill in every last detail before saving the entry. If I'm driving, I can open the app, click that I'm pulling and fill the rest in later if I want to. Also, I think there's definitely something to the manual logging for each pulling session. I get the urge to pull I tell myself "if you pull, you have to log." And oddly enough, more often than not, THAT is just enough to suppress my urges. I think it's also worth it to note that, in each log, there's the option to rate the intensity of the urge and the option to do a journal on how you're feeling, etc. Obviously, these developers have either really done their research, or have experienced trich themselves. This app just like, "gets it" and doesn't feel insincere like most of the "healthy living, habit building, to do list +" kind of productivity category apps.
