Could be great!
Brushes feel really nice and smooth, works well with the Apple Pen.
BUT… the tools feel really limited. There is no blend/ blur, or hard marker or pen. The pallets is a nice touch, creative and special, it can force you to be creative to challenge and limit yourself to using just 5-8 color range. But if you want to get a specific shade or color it’s still a process to get to the exact shade you want: You have to open up a menu item to change the palette or use the rainbow one. Then you have to spin the wheel for color and swipe up or down for shade. It would be great to have the option to use the universal simple color dialog to choose from, and to make your own color palette and save then.
All in all, the Artwork is amazing, large selection, even the free version where they do limit artists and popular items, but you still you find something you’ll like. You select your preferences upon opening but I can’t find a way to change those preferences. I chose too many because I wanted everything but I realized it’s just for the home page, there’s a whole tab to browse all artworks.. whoops.Show lessbread0k
Really love the app, there could be some improvements
I love using lake. I’m not an artist but I love being able to relieve stress while colouring and I’ve felt very proud of some of the pieces I’ve finished. I use the app on my iPad but also have it on my phone and have found that they don’t sync well even though they upload to my iCloud. Also there doesn’t seem to be a place for me to turn off the starting sound. I think there was a way to turn sounds off with the older versions of the app…maybe I’m making this up but I have to turn my volume all the way down before starting the app if I’m in a very quiet place like a library. Last one - I wish there were more options for mood for the daily journal. I’ve often felt “tired” or “neutral” or “cheeky” yet these haven’t been present as options and I’ve felt disappointed by the Color palette. Please, please, please add more options for mood beyond the 12 that are there. Other than that, I love the app and highly recommend!Show lessC.with.A.z

I really love this app and has helped me so much through the hardest time of my life. I absolutely adore the entry, to draw, because I have had horrible days and drawing it out really helps. I love the different genres of drawing and how unique each drawing is. Love the watercolor tool and the color wheel. I don’t have the subscription, but is still a great app, and is easy to use once you get the hang of it (like one drawing and you know where everything is). I love the feature that you can listen to music while coloring because I am very sentimental when it comes to music and drawing so putting them together really seals the package. One thing that might be just my device, but I went into the app on day and all my drawings were gone. They were there but weren’t colored. It was bummer, and I had spent hours on some drawings. I didn't it dwell on it, because I though of it as an opportunity to draw them again with different colors, or styles but it was still devastating. If there is a way for me to get my drawings back please respond creators. Still get this great app though! Three years coloring
I’ve read a lot of reviews same as what I’m feeling. I used free then tried to buy smallest cost app but they accidently put higher priced one. I’ve since found it’s the App Store you need to stop using cost of app. They reimburse once they know it was an accident. What bothers me most is all my art is licked down unless I buy a new subscription. ? Why, I paid for it already, it should be mine to keep. Plus in 3 or 4 years they still havnt added new tools to use. They have madeolenty of money by now. Two brushes, a spray can, a color entirely can, one brush is lightly unless go over picture then leaves where you left off. Second brush is dark. The use of tools helps those of us who need them. A simple blender brush would be great. But letter I received said they needed to get more money for future tools to be bought. That was over two and a half years ago. The Pages, art, has too many abstract people with oddly shaped bodies, legs, heads, etc..normal pages are much cooler to paint but again now I don’t pay, my arts locked and tools are too limited. Lake has the potential to be great but it’s not living up to what it promised when I began. I understand they hire artists to draw but it’s give and take with them I’m sure. Please try harder Lake. Get newer tools for free for the ones who need to destress. It’s why I joined.Show lessoldpeeps play 2

I purchased the premium membership because I really enjoyed the app. Unfortunately, every time I have time to use this app (not very often I am a mom of 4 and don't get a lot of time to just sit around) I have to restore my purchase which never works. Than I have to write an email to Lake's service people and then I eventually receive an apologetic email usually within 1 to 3 days with a baloney fix that I end up never having to use because the app magically has finally restored my purchase. The issue gets fixed but instead of sitting down to enjoy the app I have to do the twist and by the time the issue is fixed my time to sit down and relax is long gone. My recommendation for everyone out there is to enjoy the free features and save yourself the headache.Show lesscookiebelly

If your premium content still seems to be locked, please follow these steps and let me know if they work: 1. Make sure your device is running iOS 14.0 or later. 2. Go to App Store and update your Lake. We released a new version over the weekend (3.35.4) with the fix. 3. If the content still seems locked, restore your purchase by going to Lake settings / subscriptions / Restore Purchase. Please let me know if that works and if I can be of further assistance. I really love this up so much! It doesn’t overwhelm me with the fancy coloring options other coloring apps have and the pictures are simple but yet amazing! (You need to get it if you haven’t). My only problem is can you offer more stuff to the people who can’t get the subscription? (Btw if you are a person who is reading this right now please get this app! Really amazing). But like how I was saying, a lot of the pictures have the subscription which right now I can’t get. If you could please make it where you can watch adds to get it? And for the subscription thing can you make it a little cheaper? (I understand if you can’t). One last suggestion. Is there a way you can add a music feature where u can listen to music while coloring? Like rain music, ocean sounds, etc. I understand for most people they don’t like listening to music while coloring but for the people who do could you please add it? Again, I understand if you can’t. Overall really great app and I would use this app everyday if I wasn’t busy. If you are a parent reading this, GET THIS APP FOR YOU OR FOR YOUR CHILD! Nothing inappropriate that I have seen and it’s really fun to use. Bye and please answer back creators if you can.

I absolutely love this app. I was recently gifted an iPad and Apple Pencil, and was looking for an app for coloring/painting/relaxation. I’m not a skilled artist myself, but wanted something with more creative options/functionality than just color-by-number. I tried out several other apps before finding Lake - none of which really offered exactly what I was hoping for. This is perfect. I love knowing that the app gives a platform to independent artists, and there is so much variety in their styles. The app is interactive in a lot of engaging ways - like the journal, studio, and coloring books you click through to open the pages, almost like gifts. I saw lake while I was scrolling on the App Store looking for coloring apps. Lake has a coloring journal that I love very much because it makes a color pallet based on my mood! I love how in the coloring journal you also get to choose the photo, but the BEST PART is THE FACT THAT I CCAN USE MY STYLUS ON MY PHONE FOR LAKE ACTUALLY COLOR IT IN. lake also offer pictures for free so not all of them are premium! There is a wide variety to choose from. they will keep you busy for hours, it’s good whenever you are waiting for something or in a waiting room. lake also makes things very relaxing and choose pictures based on the pictures that you chose when you first start! great drawings, horrible execution.
first of all, i love the drawings. this game is very fun to play and i highly recommend it if you don’t mind spending money on it.
however, it is impossible to play if you’re not spending anything. i wouldn’t even mind if it was just a one time purchase, but a MEMBERSHIP for a fricking coloring app?!?! it’s insane. it’s a shame since i love coloring with this game, but i will not be spending money on a membership that’s completely useless. another thing is the lack of representation. almost all of the females are white, and there are hardly any poc to be found. i have to color them to look like poc, which is extremely hard when given white features. there’s only like, fifty (if even that) drawings of poc out of the thousands of drawings???? it’s outrageous. this game would be much better if these issues were resolved.Show lessWeird donut godz
Don’t even bother
I got a free week trial from Lake and I’ve been trying it out. Coloring isn’t actually that easy in this app unless you have a stylus or pen to go along with it. I’m on an iPhone and in order to tap to fill a color in I have to zoom in all the way so my finger doesn’t accidentally hit something else. On top of that, I have to scroll with both fingers to move he canvas and it’s a hassle. Sometimes my finger will hit another part of the canvas and fill it in on accident. This app is more frustrating than relaxing for me, but I’m sure I can chalk that up to being on an iPhone. Let’s also not forget about the $40 subscription fee, which in my opinion doesn’t even seem worth it. I think this app would benefit from a $5 month subscription rather than an annual, and there is no way I’m paying $40 every year for this.Show lessPsychedelic Sage
