  • Waste of time - doesn’t work!

Bought two cameras and couldn’t get them working because of this useless app! Tried for ages - very annoying! Wish I’d paid attention to the reviews and not wasted my time! Honestly, do not bother!
  • Disappointed

I bought this camera but the setup is ridiculous the first time it took me 2 hours to get it to connect then it worked amazing then after a power outage it keeps telling me it’s offline, tried reconnecting and resetting and it just won’t connect yet my wifi is great as other devices are working perfectly. There is no online help anywhere such a waste of money.
This second time I have just wasted another 2 hours trying to get a connection.

  • Scroll useless still

You should have gone back to the swipe scroll as the fix is still useless:(
  • Update is a failure

The latest update does not sign in to your account and just stalls there and the cameras have stopped connecting???? Also can’t get thru to them for support.
  • No iPhone X support?

Seriously no iPhone X support after it’s been out almost 18 months and you’ve had updates?
  • Not bad for the price of free

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews? First the app is free and to monitor your cameras is free. The service almost always is available. The pairing to cameras was easy. The English translation is a bit comical but functional.
  • Playback does not work

Can not scroll through recorded content. Plays only at actual speed and after about 15 mins stops with message ‘abnormal network’. Need an alternative 😡
  • Trash

App crashes every five minutes. Trash.
  • Don’t bother.

Can’t sign up just says ‘service busy’.
Completely useless waste of time and money. I’d give it no stars but have to have one to post review?
  • Camera Going Offline & Audio In Only

Most of my initial problems were caused by misunderstanding the manual or shaky wi-fi. Most eventually solved by selecting 2.4 wi-fi in a good location for router, camera and iphone to complete Sound Wave linking for that first time. Getting wifi repeaters can be useful too.

It would help if the little booklet/manual clarified where a control is to be found; a soft switch in the app or a hardware switch like the one adjacent to the 12V in plug going into the foot of the camera hardware. That hardware switch in the cable out of the camera seems to be to make it hunt for a wi-fi network or, if held down for twenty seconds, to reset the camera.

Having entered your wi-fi network name and password, they are remembered next time.
If it goes off line, simply go through the setup again and once successfully sound wave linked, need only to press down on the image frame for it to reconnect.

You need to turn your mobile phone sound on and up to maximum volume and then push the round blue soft switch on your mobile screen so it can warble data (and paint a red ring) while it connects the camera to your wi-fi network - typically three or four goes are needed until it acknowledges on the screen that it is connecting in a few seconds; not with the spoken acknowledgment you are expecting!
Once you have a stable connection to the camera via your wi-fi network, you can get other phones in your family to connect with the same login you used on the first phone!
Motion always triggers the video stream and just insufficient light turns on the infrared lights.

The main clue you need is that when you finally see an image the camera is seeing, press it to get it connecting. Takes a few moments, but it works fine! You should then get on your mobile's screen under the relayed video, the video record go/stop red blob alongside a microphone icon for sending audio sound from your mobile to the camera (which does not work on cameras without a built in speaker) and a camera icon to take a snapshot image of the video feed. A different miniature icon just under the image being seen enables/disables listening to the camera microphone (audio sound listening on/off). That works and you can get a clip into that day's album by explicitly doing so.

The most frustrating aspect of this system was that when it was all functioning, I took a break and later found the camera had gone offline. I had to back out of the interface to the point where you do the whole setup again. Once I had it connected through an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station, a 2.4 GHz wi-fi network, it stayed stable on line. To reconnect live streaming, just pressing on the displayed image frame brought it back to life.

The other frustration is that the weather proof camera I got does not have a built-in speaker so the app function (and microphone icon) to enable sound TO the camera does nothing. I am told that other cameras where that works are not weather proof as yet. The app should not show the microphone icon (or flag it as inactive somehow) if your particular camera does not support sound in that direction!
