Poorly designed and poorly supported
Do not believe all the “rave” reviews and after my experience with the app and the support (none existing), I question the legitimacy of the so called “awards.” The UI was poorly designed, the UX was also lacking. Features are almost none other than pick your currency and go with it. The 14 days free trial was just a click-bait to get you into paying them now but charge later scam. Some reviewers mentioned this might even be a subscription based service!!!!! What’s more frustrating, was the support which is none. I sent them an email requesting clarification on the purchase (I don’t want subscribe to a currency converter), there was zero responses. I’m concerned they may even forwarded my email address to spammers. All in all, poor product, poor support, and questionable recognitions.Show lessdisway

I couldn’t imagine traveling without this app. It’s such a novel way to approach currency conversions. Also, it’s beautiful! Absolutely worth it.Sam_Marcus

Wanted to review this app again after approx. 4 years.
I will say that it is still a great looking app and many of the bugs I reported have been fixed over the years. I have deleted all of my similar apps and Elk will now be my only travel money converter.
I like the widget and the watch app works extremely well with a fast update on conversions.

Quick, intuitive
Most conversion apps require you to tap keys on the iPhone or even worse into them on the Apple Watch… But this app allows you to quickly estimate the cost of some thing in a foreign currency using swipes in simple tapssnoop_z

Elegant
Elegant, easy to use, uncluttered. Most other apps clutter up the screen with history of currency fluctuations, etc. Elk realizes that you don’t need or want that, but does use the screen for the conversion that’s relevant. Great design.Larry_Hinman
Very clean and creative
This is my favorite currency conversion app of all time. Very simple and intuitive, although it takes a moment because it's so different than what you expect. Great app. I only wish it were even easier to swap currencies.Janice Tay
Easy to use
Swift and easy to use for rough figures. Often I don’t care the exact conversion so swags at values of 10s is fine. Though some way to input a specific amount would be nice.Dtothehtothec
A couple of issues
Very cool app and the concept is easy. so why two stars? Because it lacks figures under 10 pesos and from 1 million to 10 million it lists it as K’s. So one million is not 1M, but 1,000K. 2 million is 2,000K and so on. Until you get to 10
million which finally shows as 10M.
I personally would drop the K. For example, instead of 100k I would list it as 100,000. it goes up to 99,000, it’s not too much to just add one more digit, up to a million then use the M for the millions.
I have shown the app to several people and they all got confused. out of 11 people 4 eventually figured it out, but took then a few minutes, and the test I had to explain it to then and they hated it. Even though I figured it out, I won’t don’t use the app often because of these issues.
Due to my job I deal a lot with large figures, in the hundred of thousands and millions of pesos, so this is a deal breaker for me and I have to use the EX app but most often a good old calculator.
Recently with my Apple Watch I ask SIRI to convert x amount of Mexican pesos to US dollars and she does it.Show lessYaslicious
Awesome app one huge problem
Why can’t you just select which two currencies you want and just type a value to convert. Tables are pretty worthless if I need to know an exact amount.
Other things that should be included is a chart of what is going on and maybe news tied into it as well .
