  • Worth every cent

A masterpiece in beauty, the sublime, and sweetness, this game will delight the senses and inspire the mind. This game is not for the impatient or the violence-lover.
  • Good but...

This game needs a little more to it. For starters this game is really short. There are only 15 levels and there is no pause button. The gameplay is super easy and even though it gets a little more difficult it still isn’t much of a challenge. The music and animation is nice but the story is lacking. I do like how the environment is effected by what is going on in the story. The landscape is pretty too. Honestly I think this game needs more to it.

  • Wonderful, artistic and heart warming.

I was a game player but for long time I have stopped playing video games because they all have more or less the same style. I downloaded Old Man’s Journey out of curiosity, because as an artist I was interested in the graphic and design. Yes, it’s not the most complicated game ever and if you are looking for something very challenging perhaps this will not be so exciting... but it is a wonder low stress game, that allows you to immerse yourself in a wonderful natural world, full of wonderful sounds and colors. It will warm your heart because the purpose of this game is not survival, but something very unusual and new. It’s worth trying.

  • Visually great, but a little on the expensive side

Visually this game is great, and the story suits the animation. My only complaint is the game is a little on the simple side, meaning you can finish it within an hour, so paying anything more than about $1 just seems to be a little on the expensive side.
  • Basically unplayable

The descriptions sounded lovely. Paid, downloaded and got nowhere. Crashes frequently and even when it doesn’t crash it doesn’t make sense as a game. Interactive story, maybe but it only seemed to have one way to develop, so really not all that interactive. Deleted ageyet 10 minutes of frustration.

Sorry that you're experiencing crashes. Please write us to support@brokenrul.es and tell us what device you’re playing the game on and in what levels the game crashes. With that information we can more easily fix your problems. Thanks, Felix
  • Charming

Charming puzzle game, engulfed me for an hour or so at a time. At times challenging, but never frustrating, with a perfectly timed pace with intriguing characters. Visually stunning.
  • Absolutely Stunning

Great story, great puzzles, and great aesthetic. The game’s pleasing graphics only add to this great game. A story about loss and regret that not only is realistic, but sad in a way that is oddly pleasing and sympathetic. An old man who got divorced and has to live on his own, adventuring the world. The puzzles seem to focus mainly on showcasing game aspects such as hot-air balloon riding and falling through waterfalls. I wish there was a second game that not only tells a completely new story, but doesn’t just showcase game mechanics. The game also felt kind of short. If there were to be a second game, making it longer and still keeping all of the previously listed things all of the way through would turn this review into a five star.

  • Doesn’t support iCloud sync

I want to play the game on my iPad and then continue on my iPhone but progress doesn’t sync so it’s pointless.

    Developer Response

We're working on iCloud sync and will add it to our next update. ETA: early December. Best, Felix
  • A touching interactive experience

More than anything else, this is a story. There are game-like elements related to controlling the old man’s navigation as he winds his way along a memory-laden path, and those elements are quite novel. They are not explained in-game, nor are they particularly difficult, so if you are looking for a challenge, or for the game-aspect to make in-game sense, this is the wrong app for you. But taken as a fun diversion while exploring the old man’s memories, the resulting experience is quite touching. It only takes about an hour to complete the game, but I am happy to have played it.

  • Beautiful game

I found this game to be calmly amusing. I’ve played the first few levels and they aren’t too hard. Quite simple really. I expect the difficulty will increase as the game progresses.

What really made me give this game 5 stars is the story line and animation. I appreciate the slow pace of the game as well. This game does require a certain adult mind set to appreciate. I would not get this game for children. Not that I’ve found any content objectionable, it’s just they won’t be able to keep interested.
