Inacceptable

$8 is a rip off and they know it
Free features is a rules list you can google
Anything else requires buying a codex or the subscription
The army builder should be free

It’s good I don’t know what all the fuss is about
If you’re already paying for Warhammer plus then this app is great. I see a lot of negative comments but I haven’t had that problem experience.
AoS app is also great.

Can’t add weapons on Tau crisis suits
I’m really frustrated that when I go to add weapons for my Tau crisis suits it doesn’t work. I just get a little spinning/loading sign. I need the app to figure out how I want to kit my team up. I have the codex but I’m a bit stuck trying to figure out points across 6 crisis suits and multiple weapon combs. Also being able to use app offline would be awesome so I can use my iPad in the Warhammer store while having a game. P.S. I could use paper and pen but then why am I paying for the app?

In need of work
If all you need is a reference for stat blocks this works fine. If you want the rules behind the specific armies you have to buy the physical codex and link it. The army builder is buggy, it crashes constantly, the ability to edit specific gear choices on any unit with multiple choices doesn’t work at all, it defaults to all members of the unit having the same gear (crisis battle suit squads for example, but almost all squads like this I tested did the exact same thing). Furthermore it doesn’t have the ability to do simple math correctly. The army builder doesn’t add points up correctly. The main thing the advertise about this app just doesn’t work… Just completely useless all around. Apparently basic arithmetic was lost on the developers.

Still logs me out all the time, but stability has improved
I’d like to be able to use the app offline without it needing to check my subscription upon opening the app. The option to copy a list would be a fantastic addition too, so I can have multiple lists with slight changes without having to remake the entire thing. At least it doesn’t crash every time I delete a unit anymore. Dev on this app appears to be incredibly slow, so might be a while before it’s a full product

Rough but functional
Have used it for about a year or so, with varying issues during that time, however after playing with it I’ve grown to use it in lieu of other options, hence the 4 stars. They are actively updating it and it does get updates for points and rules.
Qualms would be around semi-frequent crashing with certain actions during list building (say you add an Inquisitor to a chapter or are trying to choose wargear on a vet), nothing terrible, restart and remove.
Some things don’t seem to line up with the codices, for better and worse, whether wargear that can be taken by model or unit, the count doesn’t match for unit and the next can take more then allotted.
The majority of point issues seem to have been cleared up, an example being a power sword on your Intercessor srg would jump the 105 cost up to 120, that is NO longer an issue.
It does provide a fair amount of rules (some tied to your purchase of whatever codex) and has been set up for GT or EW play.
Would like to see further polish as time goes by and potentially more functionality, barring the intent to create a separate app for Kill Team or even Apocalypse, maybe even HH army building, but that’s also just as fine an expected to be its own format and app.
If in doubt, try it for the month, play with it and keep fiddling, if you take to it then keep it, if you don’t move along and check it out another year.

Deceptive business practices
Be warned, aside from the problems with the app (which I addressed in a Spring 2022 review), the business model is dis-honest.
I purchased a year subscriptions (about $60 US) justifying the free miniature as gift for my son. The miniature is finally released, but will not be available to order until the year is complete - even though I paid for the ENTIRE year in advance. So much for a Christmas present ordered 9 months early.
Then, considering how little usefulness the app has provided for gameplay, I chose to turn off my auto-renewal. You guessed it, not possible. Auto-renewal is default- only option is to cancel subscription. The website clearly stated that if I do this, then the miniature (which made the annual fee worthwhile), would be forfeit.
So, in truth, the exclusive miniature is only for those that pay for an entire year AND may for the next year (at least the first month) as well. This is not what was advertised.
In summary, I did not find the app helpful for streamlining the complexities of the game. It markets for more sales. I need help playing this game for it to actually be fun; having a virtual salesperson involved makes me feel like on on a car sales lot than at a gaming table— not fun and not honest with there subscriptions.

Crashes repeatedly
Constantly crashes during use, extremely irritating as you can’t interact for more than a few minutes before being kicked to the home screen.
Updated inconsistent with announcements.
