Reviews of VinylBox

  • There is no way this so should be a subscription

This is a very nice app and makes it easy to catalog your records, but in no universe does this app justify a recurring subscription fee. I’d gladly pay a one-time price for Vinyl Box but for $20+ a year, I question where my money is going. Nothing new has rolled out in this app in years and I can get almost all the functionality with the Discogs app for free.

I want to support indie developers but this just feels like a cash grab to me.
  • Great looking app bit search is horrible

I only have 425 items in my collection but I cannot search by artist. When I’m in My Vinylbox and search, it says, no results found in my vinylbox.

I paid for the app a few years ago and the larger my collection gets, the less useful it is.

I downloaded it thinking it was a better looking app than Discogs and while that may be so, its functionality is subpar.
  • Nice app but for the price?

I’ve been on the subscription for over a year, $1.99 auto billed a month which is something most of us likely forget. Problem is I may go 1-2 months without buying a record/vinyl and when I have a dozen to add the app it freezes. One at a time works just fine though. If the app was $0.99 a month I’d just leave it billing, but I’m cancelling now - may consider starting the subscription back to add to collections in bulk even though I’ll be dealing with the app crashing. I would rate higher if the monthly cost was less.
