Kiteboarding: So far so good.
Update 3/23/18: Logged another couple dozen kiteboard sessions. Figured out the transfer issue. Once you are complete with a session, you have to allow it save on the watch and then transfer to the phone. If you start another session on the watch before transferring to the phone, say goodbye to the first session. Otherwise, it has worked 100%. I will say it doesn’t always log jumps and some jump heights are not near accurate, but for being built into the watch, impressive. Still keeping the 3/5 stars due to the multiple sessions transfer issue and inconsistent jump height measurements.
Update 2/28/18: So far so good. Used it kiteboarding a dozen times since my last review update and got it to transfer data to the phone each time. I ensured the Watch session was ended and it calculated the session. Then I immediately opened the app on the phone and allowed it to sync. Upgrading it to 3/5 stars for now. I would give it another star if it captured smaller jumps but for using the watch’s hardware, it does a nice job. It will drain the watch battery after about 3-4 hours of continuous use.
Update 2/8/18: So I have been able to get it to transfer every time only if I have my phone near the watch, app open on the phone, and then end the session on the watch. The one time I ended it away from the phone, it never transferred. Not sure if that was a one time thing or not but I don’t have confidence in ending a session away from the phone. Bumped my up from 1-Star to a 2-Star.
Developers have finally fixed the issue of it auto-opening on the watch but they haven’t fixed the bigger issue of it not transfer your recorded session from the watch to the phone. I have gone out 6 times using the watch app (Apple Watch 3) and once completed, I ended the session and it does not transfer to the phone (iPhone 6 & X) and becomes lost forever.
As for accuracy, it did a descent job capturing my over track and jumps when kiteboarding. For the one time I used it for surfing, it did not collect any data of my few times I surfed a wave.
Crossing my fingers they figure this out or start to sell the actual Xensr hardware again vice using the watch as the sole data collection tool. Otherwise, I’ll end up buying a competitors sensor.

Great app (when working)
Highly recommend this app. Love their approach and give a good summary of your surf. Only downstairs is a tendency for the app to crash on my watch when starting a session or surfing, and failure to upload afterwards.
Major issues Apple Watch 2
App will start only the first time after a hard shutdown. Consecutive starts don't work.
Has crashed mid session and lost all data.
Will not measure / capture jumps period.
Units setting seem to be stuck in Imperial no matter what i do.
I have faith that this app can be great! Just needs some serious TLC.

Not ready yet
Doesn’t measure jump height accurately. Issues syncing with Watch, top speed shows 9km/h on iPhone app but is 39km/h on the Watch app. Good free app if you just want to see a gps map of where you have been but there are better apps for that. Good idea for an app but needs a lot more work. Would be happy to pay for a working version. Update... doesn’t sync with phone at all any more. Sessions lost forever

Great app - works well with watch 3
Great app - works well with watch 3. Seems to transfer fine to the phone so I assume the old issues were resolved a while back. Happy so far
A joke
A joke of an app. Doesn’t work, and if you read their version history’s they say things like ‘fixed for real this time’. It ain’t. Why people would release an app that doesn’t fundamentally work is beyond me.
Can’t change units to metric
Can’t sync back to the phone
I guess at least it didn’t crash my iwatch which previous users experienced. Let’s call that a small win.

Does not work!
I wish this little handy App would work but it doesn’t. Sessions aren’t recorded consistently but most funny aspect is its inaccuracy. Don’t bother. Save your $
Stoked! Works great after the latest update.
I really wanted the app to work for me, but it wasn’t. I contacted them through Facebook, and told them of the issues I was having. They responded super fast, and told me about the update, and what their plans were with the new features. Now I’m all updated, and the app works super smooth. Great job on all levels! Can’t wait to see future updates.

Does this app work for anyone?
Had the xensr device for kiting and it’s been busted in warranty for over a year. Company just says ‘soon’ for repair. Saw this app and was stoked. However, I can not get my sessions to sync correctly with the app. The sessions are there but clicking them does nothing. Super bummed because this is basically the best app (if it works) I could image for my watch!
Can’t wait to see if this gets fixed!

Doesn’t work at al
I tried it out today on the Apple Watch Series 3 for the first time. Spent 90 minutes in the water. Caught around 8 solid waves. The app said zero waves caught, zero waves attempted and zero calories burned. The session did sync with my phone but the date and time were off. This isn’t a very necessary app to begin with, who really needs to know how many waves they caught, but the fact that it’s essentially vapor ware is frustrating. I hope the developers go back and rework and get it right.
