I have a modest daily goal of 500 words. I use this as my minimum, always aiming for 1000 words if I can.
I like the calendar in this app and the insights, but the typing experience leaves much to be desired.
1. Spell check is distracting and not always correct, sometimes highlighting half of a word. 2. Cursor positioning will randomly change to the middle of the screen (possibly as a result of the auto-scrolling feature that I've seen others write about). This creates a real disturbance in my writing flow. I typically have to undo several times to get back a selection of text that I have overwritten as a result of this cursor movement (which apparently is also selecting a bunch of text).
This application is almost there, but I expect the writing experience to be as perfect as can be. I don't know if I will be able to continue using this application if this is not addressed soon. If anyone out there knows of some settings in the MacOS that might be adjusted to improve this, I would love to know!
