Dated
I would consider opening a current account but the years of delay in deciding whether to offer Apple Pay and general lack of innovation on the digital side have put me off.

We hope to have mobile payments available by the end of the year. We are aware of how popular making contactless mobile wallet card payments is with customers. In the meantime, we have asked our customers to carry their debit card with them to make payments. Or suggest other open banking providers that you can register your card with to do that, such as Curve or SumUp, however please bear in mind fees or charges that the provider may apply and consider what data privacy or security the provider has in place. Great ethics but a couple of glitches
But difficult if having to pay in cheques. Posting them seems really old fashioned and backwards.
Also unable to access the website without 2 devices. I had to renew my iPad just to access the website and often I’m away without WiFi (for iPad) without which I still can’t access the website to initiate changes.

Priorities all wrong
Customer service is poor too. I recently asked come questions around security (it seems mighty easy to transfer £20,000 with minimal verification) and they couldn't have been more dismissive or defensive. Meanwhile they are still not supported by most Open Banking APIs and they've closed down products such as the Junior ISA. Been with Triodos for years and I am increasingly feeling that they are not interested in customers, just the deposits for lending to ethical business.

Convenient structure but not VI accessible
The necessary "Reasonable adjustment" we should have is for the app to pick up on the phone's own accessibility settings - larger font, bold etc and apply them to all text.

Great ethics, more digital
It’s important where my money is going so I’m sticking with it, it would just be helpful to have some of the convenience features mentioned as I’d probably only recommend it to friends with some of these.

Clunky (and now also in denial)
f this doesn’t bother you and you’re happy to trade having a slick app and web bank for the satisfaction that they only invest ethically, then fine. But if you’re used to having a top banking service you’ll find their simple app frustrating. After a few months of not being able to load my card onto my phone and getting repeated messages I was unable to read I was ready to move to a bigger, slicker big bank. This works like the internet circa 1995.
Why can’t I use my Triodos card on my phone? Some direct debits don’t work. No one calls to explain why. Great that it’s an eco bank but lots of downsides as it’s so basic.
