  • Nice interface, missing one feature I need

I want a camera app that overrides the default iOS camera and its terrible over-processing that results in flattened and harsh skin tones and extreme HDR. I still want Live Photos, a level, and everything else that can be enabled with the default app.

It’s ridiculous that I need to buy an app to fix this problem… and no way am I paying for a subscription! Camera M at least is reasonably priced.

It has an option to reduce processing, yet it seems still only the RAW image yields the appealing photographs that I want. I’d like to capture Live Photos in JPEG/HEIC that lack over-processing. Is this possible? If Camera M can achieve this, five stars!

Hello Andrew, thank you for your great review. You bring up a great topic: If you want absolutely no processing at al, 0, standard RAW is your best option. However, you did mention that you would like to have the same with other processed image formats. Turning off 'Max Image Processing' would get you very close to that. We are, however, looking in to taking this even further with a future update.
  • Excellent camera app for iPhone!

I love this app. For the longest time I was bummed my iPhone camera app didn’t have manual focus. This app provides that option perfectly. A bit of background, if you want the closest possible focus distance (2cm in macro mode) zoom out to 0.5x. I love being able to fiddle with manual settings now. If you want to as well, get this app!

  • Awesome

Couldn’t be happier with this app!

I switched over from Camera+ after it started needing an internet connection. I had used Camera+ on and off for about 10yrs, and let me tell you, Camera M is WAY better!

It opens super fast, so I never miss the opportunity for a shot. UI is intuitive and fully featured, and really fast too.

Also, I like the fact that this is not pretending to be a photo editing app. The focus is solidly on the camera itself, as it should be. I edit all my photos on my Mac anyway.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Best camera app ever made

Has everything you could possibly ever need in a camera app and you would ever want and runs amazing in my iPhone 13 well worth the 13$ I paid

  • Edge buttons unresponsive

Not sure what happens, but after a while leftmost and rightmost buttons on the settings strip right below the viewfinder become completely unresponsive until the app is reloaded. Otherwise would be the most intuitive and friendly middle ground between very complicated and very simple manual apps.
But while I can live with unresponsive histo button, unresponsive reset to auto is kind of a deal-breaker.

  • It’s okay. A number of issues.

I don’t like the way it handles burst mode. When I use the Apple iOS stock camera app and take burst photos they show up as one photo containing many. I can press “select” in the iOS camera album and select only the ones I want to keep. I cannot do that on this app. It saves every burst picture as a separate photo. So It’s very cumbersome. And it struggles to focus in poor light, where the Apple stock photo app easily focuses. I’m not sure why this is. I’m thinking of getting a refund because to me it’s not worth £7.99. A shame. I love the layout, but unless these things are ironed out then it’s not for me.

Hello AndyDurham10, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Burst mode. Unfortunately, as 3rd party developers, we do not have access to save the burst photos into a pile as the native camera app does. As for focusing, Camera M uses the same focusing mechanism as the native camera app. Do you notice auto-focus issues during manual exposure? If so, please note that, during long exposure durations (slow shutter speeds), camera feed slows down. This may cause focusing to be slower. You would not notice this in the native camera app due to not having a manual exposure mode with long exposure durations. Please feel free to contact us with more feedback - contact@camera-m.com. If you believe Camera-M is not for you, you definitely have the ability to ask for a full refund from Apple. Please let us know if you need assistance with that as well.
  • 15 Pro Max

Update: 7.3.1 still the same issue.

Action button does nothing, volume down changes cameras. IOS17.2.1 so should be working.

    Developer Response

UPDATED RESPONSE: We apologize for this for complication. For Action Button camera switching, you have to add Camera M 'Switch Cameras' shortcut in the main Action Button settings. SECOND RESPONSE: JCRocky5, we released version 7.3 update with few fixes for the Action Button and volume button actions. Please let us know if you are still having issues after the update. Thank you. ORIGINAL RESPONSE: JCRocky5, we are sorry to hear about this issue. Just to make sure, pressing volume up captures photo and volume down switches cameras, correct? Yes, we made a small mistake in our update notes, you still do have to setup an App Shortcut for the Action Button. Setting it to 'Switch Cameras' with Camera M resolves this issue. Again, we apologize for this mishap.
  • This is Weird Great Camera App

This app is taking raw photos like real raw photo
  • Idk why this app is less popular than Halide. Way better.

Hope they keep the app alive and make more advancements. I wish the app would let you modify photo to get uses of the special format pro raw etc.

    Please add video capture :)
  • No selfie camera selection on iPhone 15 Pro Max

EDIT: I am updating my rating to 5 stars based on developer response. I suggest that they update the User Manual with instructions.

    ORIGINAL:
I purchased this app primarily to avoid over sharpening of Selfie photos from native iPhone camera. But this app only shows the rear facing cameras (1x, 2, 0.5, 5) on iPhone 15 Pro Max. There is no option to select the front facing selfie camera. What a bummer!

    Developer Response

Hello TechGuy2008, We surely wouldn't develop a pro camera app without giving a choice to select the selfie camera. Please press and hold on the camera choice buttons, you will see a popup picker with the list of all available cameras. The selfie camera is at the bottom of the list.
