  • Great UI

I love the UI in this app and it works as well as any of the pro-camera apps on the store however I do like the ability to jump straight into Darkroom or RAW Power like another popular camera app does. If this ability was available this would become my primary camera app but for now will return to my normal app.

Edit: Wow. Now has the integration I asked for. Now has to be 5 stars. Thank you.

Hello howemcd, we are extremely sorry to hear about your experience. The mechanism to figure out whether to prompt for a rating is triggered when you close the EXIF display in Camera Roll. It is responsible for figuring out if enough time has past and to make sure not to prompted repeatedly. However, this seems to forget all the rules on rare occasions with random users. So we apologize for inconvenience and hope you get to give us a proper proper rating after you evaluate Camera M fully.
  • My New Fav 3rd Party Camera App

I’m still getting used to the UI, but it’s got all the features I could ask for, and I’ve used a LOT. It’s not perfect. There’s a few things I’d like to be able to tweak like the colour of the focus peaking but I really like it.

  • Brilliant but with a few easily fixable flaws

Out of the various apps I used for photography, this one tops them all as a main camera app. The interface is on point and that is the reason that got me to purchase it. To be very honest, all photography apps claim some improvements in the image quality compared to the regular built in camera app, but that is just not true. They are all using Apple’s official APIs (and this is no exception) thus image quality will be very comparable to the regular camera app. What this app does do is improve usability and add manual controls over the stock camera app which are enough for me to actually want to use the camera more often. Easy to use in portrait, easy to use in landscape on the tripod. Having said that, it is not perfect, and I noticed a few things that the developers can improve upon.
    - First thing are the random crashes. I installed the app and in the first 10 minutes I got 5 or so crashes. One was from switching lenses, the other was the flashlight light output switcher, and a few more from the exif viewer and white balance picker.
    - Second, and this to me is a big one, is the fact that whatever I see on the screen, does not match the end result. I am a RAW shooter and all Raw modes -Raw, ProRaw, and TIFF that I’ve tried produce a different image than the one you see at capture. Since this is a digital camera, it should have no issues providing an accurate view… Note that this was not long exposure, for which it would make sense. If the developers read this I hope you guys can have these fixed with an update. Other than that, I highly recommend this app and if the above are addressed this app will be 5 stars.

  • Helpful…

Just downloaded this am… I am relatively new to using the app and I like the results so far. My major complaint is that it frequently shuts down after taking a shot and doesn't save the image… than i have to retake the picture… help?
  • Beautiful app but not for single handed use in manual mode

    Hey Team,
I had a good time exploring the app. Things seem to be arranged in good places, and the UI makes general sense. I also appreciate that you have opted for the single-purchase business model. The widget thing is a great idea as it means i can start up your app from the lockscreen, straight into the lens I would like to use. However, the app is missing two key elements which I wish it had, and so keeps me from making it be my go-to app.
    - The first: true single handed operation in landscape mode whilst in full manual. I like to hold my 12pro like I hold my A7 - left hand for support, right hand to control the camera. This is really good for stability. However when doing so, adjusting either the iso or the shutter speed is quite a stretch as the shutter slider is on the viewfinder, way off the “control center”. Forget about adjusting ISO, that’s way on the other side of the screen. There is so much wasted space on that control center, would it not be possible to make better use of that? I can think of a million ways it can be done better.
    - The second: why can’t i shoot photos with exposures longer than one second? I know avfoundation doesn’t support that, but this is what night mode is for.

    - a fellow app developer.

R kopiec, thank you for your insightful review!  You bring up a good point regarding ISO and Exposure Duration Screen. Controlling ISO and exposure duration manually with both hands indeed creates a much better experience. However, you still can control both aspects single-handedly. The touch/drag area for each is only separated in the middle of the screen. Even with a Plus/Max phone, it is still comfortably possible. We keep the control center as a common area while each manual control aspect appears on the preview screen so they can disappear when not needed. Regarding long exposure, the amazing Night Mode from the native camera app is not available for developers (yet). Any exposure longer than 1 second requires the fusion of multiple frames, which reduces the image quality greatly. We are currently testing on that area to put out something new and improved compared to other camera apps.
  • Perfection!

I absolutely enjoy this camera app! Over the years, I have bought and tried many apps but this is the one! In my opinion this works much better than the stock app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max!! It doesn’t over sharpen or cause blowouts like the stock. Keep up the great work!!
  • Buggy depth map

The depth map seems very buggy outputting quite strange blurred areas.

Further the advertised mat layers I cannot discovered anywhere in the application.

The rest of the app is quite well but I bought it because of the mat layers thus three stars.
  • Exellent!!

Excellent. In any future do you have thought to put the option to record video? Thank you. good work
  • Only Camera app you need
