Legacy paid users aren’t honoured

I paid for a lot of templates with the one time fee but now there is an unfold watermark on everything and it’s asking to pay for subscription. This is not right considering I paid the fee for the template just to have a watermark added to my content now

Deleted

Used this app for many years. I haven’t used it since the introduction of a watermark and the push for customers to subscribe. Today, after a ‘friendly’ notification to use the app again I’ve decided to delete. What a disappointing ending to a once regularly used app.

Not worth the download. You’re better off using Instagram

This app is seriously lacking in terms of allowing you full editing control of your content for the price you’re paying. Reel templates can’t be altered AT ALL. Not the music, not the length of each clip, not the transitions. Nothing. If you create a reel from scratch, you run into the same problem. Each image/video clip is trimmed down to 1 second, and can’t be made longer despite “starting from scratch”. This subscription comes out to $140 annually, so you’d think you’d have full editing control for that amount of money. You’re better off using instagrams in app reel editor. This app was a waste of time and money. I will be requesting a refund, and hopefully will get one because I have ZERO use for this app now. Very misleading. DO NOT PURCHASE

Terrible

Used to love this app. I purchased several packs back in the day and used them often. Then they switched to the subscription model and I began to deal with issues where the app would say I hadn't purchased the packs. I would have to click the restore button several times to get it to work.
Finally went in today and it wouldn't restore my purchases at all. I tried taking the app off my phone and installing it again. Clicked to restore my purchases, claimed it did then brought up a sign-in screen. Just one problem--I never made an account with squarespace because when I purchased the packs there were no accounts, just my app store record, so I have no squarespace account associated with those purchases. I haven't signed up for an account because I shouldn't have to and I have gotten along just fine. Even before this I was getting the subscription service constantly shoved in my face even though I had purchased many packs.
I feel robbed.

Dodged a bullet

Used this app for years, even bought so many of the template packs -- twice, because I changed my Apple ID. Re-download after some months and see subscription-based? And not only that, but the first screen pop-up advertises for PRO, which costs a whopping $130 a year? It's gone from a free app whose templates I already owned, to a welcome back, you can pay $130 / YEAR if you'd like. :))))))

Added to the graveyard of things that once were great and user-friendly instead of purely cash cow. :')

Once a affordable tool for creatives has now become a recurring expense

Unfold maintained a loyal user base, thanks in part to its user-friendly interface and the one-time purchase option for additional templates.

However, recent changes have significantly tarnished its reputation. The shift from a one-time purchase model to a subscription-based service has left many long-time users feeling alienated and frustrated. The most troubling aspect of this transition is that users who previously paid for templates now find these templates locked behind a subscription paywall. Additionally, even when accessed, these templates now come with a branded logo unless users subscribe to the service. This move feels like a breach of trust and an unfair business practice, as it effectively takes away the content users already paid for.

From a user experience perspective, this shift undermines the app’s value proposition. What was once an accessible and affordable tool for creatives has now become a recurring expense. This transition could be seen as a classic example of company greed, prioritizing short-term profit over long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Moreover, the branded logo on previously purchased templates without a subscription is a particularly egregious decision. It not only diminishes the professional quality of the content users can produce but also feels like an unnecessary penalty for those who supported the app from the beginning.

Unless Unfold will unlock the templates that I have previously bought, you’ll would loose a long a long term user.

Watermark = Instant Delete

Nope. That is not the way to go, especially for users that simply wanted a very basic template. Awful decision.

watermarks and upcharging

this app has been ruined. I have happily paid for templates in the past but the fact that you are watermarking even a simple image with text/mark ups on it means I will find another app to use with the same free features. you will lose so many customers by continuing to walk back free access to the most basic functions

Used to be great. Isn’t any more.

Used to love it but now it’s terrible. In the past I paid for templates that I used frequently. Now those same templates come up with the unfold logo on them unless you pay for the subscription. Seems a bit unfair to now have to pay again for something that has already been purchased. I won’t be upgrading to the subscription.

Dissatisfied with the watermark on previously purchased templates.

I have used the Unfold app for years and have purchased several template bundles. I am very disappointed that there is now a watermark on templates that I have previously purchased. Now this app is completely unusable
