Love this app and design of templates. I get super excited seeing my photos in a new way when creating pages. It really makes them standout.

After a while of not being on this app, I come back to find it overtaken by squarespace and a complete overwhelming mess. I appreciate apps need to make money - it’s a business but I also think big companies like squarespace assume that more features = better app=more opportunities to make money. I think this is wrong. So wrong. I am really tired of photo apps that were originally beautiful and tasteful in design adding so many features that you can no longer figure out who this app is for and the purpose, nor find the original beauty and simplicity. One other distinguishing factor of bad app evolution is when items that were originally free (ie classic template?!?) - that you have used to create content are now a part of the subscription model. There are still free items here - they’ve created new substandard stuff for free use. I also paid for templates in the past and have no idea if I can get those back. For the love of all good design, before people sell their apps, can they leave an old renamed version out there for those of us that don’t want to cover our designs in tacky stickers. This app is so amazing it requires no payment to use a bunch of templates and a bunch of cool stuff like filters and amazing editing tools for pictures no charge they let you download your pictures to your device Postum straight from there to an Instagram or something and just an amazing app over all I really recommend downloading it it’s totally free if you want to you get in the app which shocked me no payment so that’s amazing totally recommend itShow lessAvacocottow
After consideration...
The user interface is decent enough. The iPad support is appreciated. I get the $ grab for access to more user options/templates, you have a business to run. I have 1 major gripe which has been mentioned multiple times in the reviews and gaging from your response to these reviews isn’t going to be changed. That gripe is the lack of options for export quality within the app. Most the players in this industry figured out ‘full-res’ exports years ago. And while I get ‘full-res’ exports in cellphone apps aren’t really such it bothers me when I see very obvious depreciation in quality of imagery upon export.
That’s just not how I roll and no matter how good your templates and app aesthetics are it just does not make up for the noticeable depreciation in image quality.
Fix it, and I’m up to 3.5/4. Why not a 5? Well the whole exploitative approach to sourcing content from creators sans monetary compensation strikes a sour note with me particularly so when I consider what is you do and who say you do it for.

Don’t bother downloading if you don’t want to spend money.
I use this app infrequently. They used to be easy and they had free features that you could select to use to create a beautiful story. But recently their app has been updated and the free features are no longer easily accessible or if at all. I see many responses from the Company saying they still offer free features. If that’s true they are not easily accessible (I couldn’t find me) making it pointless to download this app unless you want to spend money. Pretty disappointing to see the free feature taken away. I personally wouldn’t recommend downloading if you are not looking to spend money on a membership.Show lessLetmestyle
Probably the BEST app out there for creators
Every time Unfold rolls out a new update I’m even more impressed. I truly feel the team wants to make the perfect app for creatives with everything we need in one place. I’m amazed at all the new things the app is capable of, from simple stories layouts, animated templates, bio sites, feed planning, and more. And for the price??!! I’m AMAZED! They truly put love into this app and I just want to say how I appreciate the Unfold team! My creativity flourishes when I work in Unfold.Show lessfleurloving1991
I want to love it
It’s easy and user friendly for story creation. The biggest and most frustrating flaw is that even with a brand account you cannot sign in from different square space accounts. This makes no sense especially in the age of social media consultants. I should be able to sign into client accounts and use their brand kits and then sign out and into another clients account without issue. The no account sharing aspect is very frustrating.
I also wish they would allow some customization of the templates themselves beyond just color and font. Overall it’s pretty decent and I supplement the animations you can’t do in Unfold with Canva.Show lessmorandaray
Favorite supplementary photo app
I use this app on a weekly basis to create amazing stories for my photography so they can be more engaging. Also one of their newer features is an Instagram feed planner which is great because then I can ditch other apps and save some space on my phone. I also have noticed that they are introducing some video features which I am very excited to see what they will do to make my editing workflow easier! I don’t like the new lay-out.
I have used this app almost two years. In the past I have rated 5 stars. This time, I have to give you one star. Why did you change the design lay-out? There was nothing wrong with the old lay-out. It was easy for me to categorize my projects. I spent hours working on a project last night. I go to work in it today and guess what? It is no where to be found. I am not happy with this at all. Also, I don’t need or like to scroll through the templates. It’s not like you’ve added anything new. Why the extra click? In order to open a template, I now have to “click” to get the template? A real Joy! Needs one more feature.
I really really love unfold and it’s enhanced my social media while also making stories a real delight for me again! Thank you! After using it for a long time I was thinking it would be grand if you could just add one simple feature, the ability to filter templates based on how many photos/videos you want to add to a page, rather than just flipping through styles to find the right template for 1,2 or 4 photos. Love this app, hate the lack of organization
I love this app so much for posting to stories, turned a bunch of my friends on to it. But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to move a page to a different story without having to completely recreate it. I used this app with the ‘stories’ as folders for different content but when I started using it I just dumped everything into one ‘story’. Now I want to separate them in ways that make sense and I can’t do it. Also, I know this isn’t how most people use the app but using it like folders makes it impossible to navigate through without swiping through every page and I’d prefer not to have to do that. Maybe an overview panel that lets you scroll the whole story? I don’t know. I would give this app 5 stars if it wasn’t so hard to organize it afterwards though.Show lessElledesgner
