Works well but really needs an editor to splice clips before downloading. Also why no option to disable parking monitor at home address? Would like to leave it on a few hours outside of home but not at home. It has gps so surely this should be possible.

App is decent but has major setback
The app is easy enough to connect with your Viofo dashcam. Once connected the app is reasonably laid out, and will a bit laggy, most features are fairly easy to find, as well as and most importantly videos.
My main gripe is, you must pair the app with the camera every time you want to use it. This requires enabling WiFi on the camera, opening the app and choosing connect camera, then backing out of the app to your phones WiFi settings and connecting, then back to app…
The A229 camera has Bluetooth, as there is Bluetooth controller that is optional, so why can’t the phone connect via Bluetooth as well, so you can seamlessly connect to the camera by launching the app without all the extra steps? This feels very janky and I would hope it could be corrected in future firmware updates.

Terrible app
No features, can't access videos and always to "reconnect" to wifi.
Pointless Besides Playback
Camera works great on its own, all this app does is allow you to easily review footage from the SD card without the need to remove it and plug into a computer. Live view is pointless as you can see the feed from the camera itself, and the need to connect to it via Wi-Fi means you need to be within a couple feet to even connect and use the app.
Would function better if it used a cellular based connection with a cloud storage service to allow live view and ability to review clips from anywhere a cellphone could connect to a tower.

Very Useful
I use this with my A229 Pro 2 channel and have found it to be very useful.
It is so much easier to initially set or later change camera settings using this app than it is using the dashcam buttons. Also, it was great for positioning the cameras, particularly the rear. I sat in the back seat and used the live view on my phone to get the best position and angle.
Wifi connects quickly and while it offers 5GHz connectivity , it still takes a while to download video clips so I remove the card and download onto my computer via a card reader. Photos download very quickly.
Live view along with voice commands works very well.

This app does what it’s supposed to
I don’t know why so many people get upset with this app. It’s worked perfectly for me. I am running it on an iPhone 13 with the latest version of my software and everything and have never had any problems with it. I can retrieve my videos easily. You just have to make sure you have enough storage because they tend to be quite big in file size but that’s the trade-off for good quality.

Poor designed app
The app does not go pass the connect to wifi screen. Cannot access any of the files from the camera and even if I try it comes up as ‘error’. Need to fix this app ASAP especially if someone’s trying to access dash cam footage.

Hello folks. Please stop complaining and giving bad reviews. Customer care is great. They went above and beyond to solve my camera issues!
We need to understand that every product and software have some bugs. They keep releasing updates regularly to fix things.
I greatly appreciate viofo support team who emailed me promptly to solve the live view issue.
Basic troubleshooting for you all:
* update app regularly
* check for your camera firmware update on viofo support website. Format the sd card and simply copy the file to the card. Insert card in camera and firmware will update in seconds.
Please stop giving one star reviews.

Great Dash Cam, Great App!
We own 4 VIOFO Dash Cams all different models and they all perform great. I know everyone had complained about the App not showing Live View or Playback videos and I was one of them too, well with the new update it was all fixed and everything works perfectly now, thank you VIOFO team. I have used other high grade Dash Cams and have to say VIOFO is by far ahead of everyone else in the industry with their Dash Cams. Highly recommend!
