Reviews of Mobile Justice

  • This App is a Trap

As many reviews point out the clearly ersatz presentation and erroneous functioning of this app which has not been updated in two years, it clearly does more harm than good. Why was it released and why is it being ignored? As the ACLU has recently suppressed internal unionization and advocated against national labor rights, I think you have to assume this software is a product of maliciousness rather than malfeasance.
  • Good

May not be perfect to police at something so stop complaining people better than nothing
  • No option to test drive without alerting emergency contacts

I downloaded this app as a “just in case” thing to have on my phone. I had read reviews that some people had problems recording, so I tried recording a test 2-second video just to see what the controls were, and if it still records if you lock your phone (it doesn’t). I immediately got a panicked call from my emergency contact asking if I was okay. “Uh? Yeah? I’m just sitting here on my couch.” They told me that the ACLU texted them that I was involved in an incident. I had no clue, and there was no notification to me!

I really want to love what the ACLU is doing here, but so many things in this app (like the example above) indicate it received minimal or zero UX research.
