You can’t call this Reason...
Having paid $10 to unlock to full features of this disappointing app, I’m morally obligated to say something. Reason on a desktop/laptop is amazing, and is 2nd to none. I’ve been an owner and user of Reason for about 15 years. This app, is more or less a dud.
“Reason Compact” offers zero multitrack sequencing whatsoever. It’s a stand-alone synth, and it’s all pay to play. Don’t buy this app expecting to sequence drums, or even songs for that matter. It’s very narrow in its application.
As a synth, it sounds alright and has some nice effects. But if you’re a hardcore Reason head expecting to make some real tracks, I’d recommend passing on this. Propellerhead, please bring back Rebirth or something. Figure is cool, too. I do appreciate your products.

Teams well
This APP teams well with my Reason 10.2 as well as a good team player for Ableton’s Live.
Needs more
The sounds are I surprisingly more high quality than I expected. Would like to see more options, such as quantization, drums/kong, and audio track capabilities. Think garage band but with Reasons architecture, flexibility and stability. Right now, in its current state, Reason Compact is just an app that makes synth sounds. The goal should be, to enable the user complete incorporation into Reason. Essentially get inspired, channel and create your inspiration through Reason Compact, finish your inspiration in your Reason daw. Overall nice start, but there’s a lot more work that needs to be done, before this could become useful.

It’s not free... it’s $10 actually...
Still a great monster, love having a pocket size Europa to go with Stockholm, but you have to buy it with diamonds! And on top of that, there’s $7 in sound packs at the time of this review... so beware. Definitely a recommended monster synth if you have Reason and want to make a quick patch and play it with your other iOS apps, would give it $17 out of 10 stars but I don’t have enough diamonds! Just cause it’s called Reason Compact shouldn’t throw you off, I still want my Reason Lite and I don’t know how to get it from here.

Hi developers help
Hi developers i love this app it’s really good the only problem I have is how do I find my recording because I have made lots and I want to use this for videos and stuff but if I can’t find my music then this app has no use for me please help
Took a while to get this.
Didn’t really like at first...the architecture wasn’t working for me. Then it made sense after trying it out on desktop as the Europa VST. It’s brilliant. The Soundtest Room are the arbiters of music apps. They say the same. No one should argue with them. And Jacob designed some patches too.
I feel a little sorry for PHead. Silly I know. But this deserves far better reviews. Those in the Know rate it highly anyway. Which counts for more than all of the 1* reviewers combined me thinks.

Response from developer
Hi, It's a super powerful synth that you can have in your pocket. With a keyboard that help you stay in scale and the possibility to edit notes when you have done your recording. Kind regards Hanna
Not what I was hoping for
I was expecting a more capable mobile app in which I could add drums, synths, bass etc. And make entire tracks on my phone. This isn't impossible these days. This is just focused around basic leads than making entire tracks.
Can’t login
I can’t even login. The “forgot password” button does not work.
GREAT synth.. now w/ MIDI input :)
Update:
This INCREDIBLE synth has been updated to support MIDI input 😎👍 That’s the power-up it needed to transform it into a most useful mobile music production tool. Time to dive in and explore the sonic landscape 😃📱🎹🎶
Original Review:
The Europa synth sounds fantastic on my iPhone!! It’s great that I can use it in AudioBus and that it supports Ableton Link. I also appreciate the ability to demo the advanced synth controls and settings, which work great and give a lot of tonal flexibility when it comes to sound design. However, I cannot bring myself to spend $9.99 on this fabulous synth’s advanced features because it does not support MIDI input. That is a must-have feature for me... and probably a lot of other iOS musicians, as well. Adding support for wired, network, and bluetooth MIDI input would be ideal for handling different live and recording workflows in iOS. Also being able to save user-created presets within the Sound Packs -> Select Sound part of the app would be very useful. Lastly, adding AUV3 support would allow iOS musicians to run multiple instance of the synth in a given workflow, making the synth a much more versatile tool for mobile music development. Please consider making these updates to turn this great synth into a powerhouse. IMHO, adding these features would elevate this synth to a 5 Star app.

Potential to be Super Figure
Can you please make this into a pro version of Figure, with at least three tracks controlled by the brilliant wheel interface that you yourselves conceived? To have that, with each instrument as customizable as the synth is now would make this the best music app available. Better than gadget. The wheel system is superior to the grid with notes, especially if the wheel itself could be changed on the fly, with the changes being automated.
