Reason Compact should be a controller for Reason

Oh Propellerhead, what are you doing. No no no. I applaud you for giving up on Figure (although that app did have the simplicity down which is one of the things this lacks) but youโ€™ve got it all wrong with this app. Iโ€™m not sure if the tech exists for this yet, but Reason Compact should simply be an instrument for Reason on a computer. You should be able to use it to make expressive sounds / performances that would be hard to do on the computer. Keep it extremely simple at first. Youโ€™ll perform on the computer and just use the app for tweaking sounds, recording automation etc.

The problem with these mobile music apps is that you end up looping what youโ€™re making over and over and over again, and you just get sick of listening to it very quickly. I would never, in a million years, make anything I could release, with this app.

It needs to be a useable, indispensable instrument for Reason first. Maybe much later it can turn into a sequencer.

One more thing. I used the app long enough to become annoyed by having to keep tapping Demo every time I swiped to another page of the controls. Let me demo the thing or not. Donโ€™t keep reminding me Iโ€™m using a demo. Doesnโ€™t make me want to buy it.

Great tool

Quickly and easily write cool lead lines, bass lines and dreamy arpeggios with the free version and easily export them to Reason 10. Can't wait to see what the paid version can do. Awesome on the go creative tool for Reason 10.

Europa Compact

Fantastic sound engine works ok as inter app in Cubasis 2 when the virtual midi option is selected when running it with StepPolyArp or Rozeta bassline... But!! and this is a BIG but thereโ€™s no user preset bank for saving my own patches. Having paid the admission fee I would expect the basics to be covered.
Hopefully future updates will iron out these glaring omissions.

Hi! We will add the possibility for you to save your own presets. Can't give you a date yet. Kind regards Hanna

One star.

This is horrible. Iโ€™m a huge reason fan and a lot like the others it was exciting to see a new mobile product. But this stinks. I hope reason make an updated version or a completely new App.

Wish I could rate it higher

I love Reason, have been using it since 2005, and as my main DAW since they added audio recording.
This however, is not Reason Compact. It is Europa Lite.
Inability to use MIDI keyboard is a HUGE oversight. Makes it little more than a silly toy.
Sounds are great, interface seems ok.
Rebrand as Europa synth, I would probably give it a four or five.
As it is, two stars is generous.

Is this it?

This isn't Reason compact, it's Europa Lite. I struggle to see how this would fit into my music making process in any meaningful way. It's missing features that I would want in a mobile app. It does sound great, and what you can do is cool, but come on propellerhead, as a long time reason user and massive fan of propellerhead products, you just left me disappointed. I can't do any thing on this app that I can't do 10 times faster and easier if I just pull out my laptop. It doesn't make me think in different ways or generate new ideas. It just makes me want to go to my computer and play with something more useable. Also, you log into your reason account but you still have to pay to use Europa? I have the full version of Reason, upgrade immediately with each new release and already have Europa as a rack extension and a VST. Why would I pay again for something that just seems like a watered down toy and doesn't give me any additional functionality. That felt like a bit of a slap in the face.

Who was the demographic you were going for here? Were you making a product for hardcore Reason users cause I don't think you got the mark. I'm still a massive Reason fan, but ultimately I'm just a little disappointed with this app.

And maybe change the name to 'Europa Sequencer' by Propellerhead cause that's all this is. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Sorry to hear that you feel slapped in the face but happy to hear that you want to head back to Reason on your desktop :) We will continuously add more instruments to the app. We hope that you can use the app when you are far from your desktop but still want to make some music, and that you later can continue with when you are back at home. Kind regards, Hanna

Midi support

This app is really cool. It can get you out of a creative rut by means of a lot of happy accidents. Only problem is you canโ€™t export midi... Being able to would make this a very useful tool which Iโ€™d use all the time but until then itโ€™s semi useless.
