A way to help this app!

I absolutely love using the app revere. It helps me remember conversations and people I recently met. Yet as I input new and old people I know I have run into one issue. When we select how we know the people there could be many more ways like coaches, teachers, business interests and more. As an app developer I understand adding things may be difficult but I truly believe adding these little options could prove very beneficial for the app and your users experiences. Have a blessed day!

Hi Andrew, custom relationships are a very popular feature request and coming soon. Thanks for taking the time to review. ~ Mark

Expanded Relationship Options Needed; Great Otherwise

This app is great! There are some adjustments that are needed in the relationship options. Please add the following so that we can respect people’s identities and also select general terms rather than gender-specific terms when information is absent, such as “so and so colleague has a sibling called Alex and we haven’t any idea whether Alex is male or female (or non-binary), but we want to document this relationship accordingly in Revere.” Including these options would take this app from great to excellent. Please add the following relationship options: Parent Step-Parent Sibling Child Step-child Spouse Sibling-in-law Child-in-law Assistant Manager Teacher Instructor Other

Hi William, custom relationships are coming soon along with many more improvements. We're in the process of a big rebuild and modernization of Revere to unlock faster feature creation. Thanks for the review and stay tuned. ~ Mark

Missing critical feature

This app is simple and secure which is great.
What is needed is a basic flash card game to help one actually remember the contacts added. I get that it’s great for close friends, but when you have a memory disability there aren’t many tools to help you remember your own friends.

Response from developer

Hey Leaf, I appreciate the review and feedback. A flashcard game would help remembering people and I actually considered it at one point. In the end, I didn't feel I could build a good notes app and good memory app – they felt like different things... at least with Revere at it's current size. A memory sidemode could work in theory, but right now there are still a lot of notes & reminders-based features I want to add so I wouldn't want to make any promises about that coming soon. I see the need for what you're looking for.

Non binary

I had to add a friend whose kid identifies as non binary and I don’t see the option so had to force my self to add the person as a daughter. Would be good to have more options for gender inclusiveness

Response from developer

Thanks for calling that out. Signed, Mark

Excellent app

This app is great and keeps it very simple. At first I thought it would be a good CRM, but I don’t need that. This app does what it advertises, and let’s let you keep notes for socials and and any conversations.

Thanks for taking the time to write this Leo 🙏

Great App - missing an important feature

I am very glad you have produced this app and wish I had found it sooner - it fills a gap between the Genealogy/family tree apps and the CRM apps. However for me it is missing one feature that I would consider would make the subscription price worthwhile. I read a review from 2 years ago saying there was very little extra in the paid version - you agreed and said you would be making it worthwhile by constantly adding features - built I’m not seeing that in what the paid version advertises 2 years later.

The feature it lacks (needs) is a field allows one to identify how each of your contacts are connected (if they are). For example each of my son’s records would list me as father and my record would each of them as son but nothing would link them to each other. Same for connected families and friends. Being able to show connections between people other than to me would take this app to the next level - effectively making it a family tree for living people and a connection tree for all my contacts (that only I have access to for privacy reasons).

Add that feature and you will have my subscription. :-)

Response from developer

Hey Aussie, noted and agreed. The connections between people would be really useful. I'm definitely working towards building that. First there are some updates to the UI that need to happen to make visualizing that info a nice experience. Thanks for the feedback, it's particularly meaningful from someone as discerning as you (having done your research reading reviews 2 years back). Mark

Need an account?

Why won't developers mention this at the beginning of the description? Instead it is mentioned in a small, easily overlooked note at the end of the description. Immediately uninstalled when I first opened the app as it asked me to create an account. Ridiculous!

Response from developer

Hi Ansk, I can definitely appreciate people not wanting to create accounts. I chose to require them so data could be backed up and synced between platforms in the future. Without accounts none of that would be possible. Thanks for the feedback. Mark

Great - but could you add option to link to Facebook?

Hi! Really enjoying the app. A couple suggestions though. Firstly, could you add an option to link to Facebook? Would be nice if profile pictures could be updated accordingly and also if it could self-populate some information such as birthday from Facebook to speed up the process.

Response from developer

Thank you for writing Erin. I stayed away from Facebook because of the privacy issues people feel with the service. Facebook also requires you to share information with them when you connect and I personally wasn’t comfortable doing that. Point taken though on making it easier to pre-populate photos and names. $5/month turns me off

I wouldn't mind paying $5 one time for the add groups feature, but paying anything per month, Im not willing.

Response from developer

Hi Isaac, that is totally understandable. A one-time payment is preferred by many people but it’s not possible to make a niche app with that business model — it costs more than that in ads to get someone to buy it. I’m playing the long game of finding people who find enough value to pay for it every month, that way I can keep it going forever. Appreciate the feedback though. Mark

Would be great, except no notifications.

This app is exactly what I am looking for, except it doesn’t seem to be giving me any notifications whatsoever. I am trying the premium plan, on an iPhone 7, iOS 13, if that makes a difference.

I will also say that Revere hangs quite frequently, whenever I move from one app to another. The lag is quite substantial and seems localized only to this app.

It isn’t a very helpful app if all of the reminders never show up at all. :/ happy to change my review if I can get this figured out though.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for writing. I can try to get the notification issue sorted for you – can you send me an email at support@revereapp.com. As for the hanging when switching apps, that's something that can happen on older phones and we have an update coming to improve that.
