Just right

This app is clean, intuitive, and easy to use. It’s just right to prompt me to stay in touch. It doesn’t have all the cruft of a full blown CRM.

One issue that keeps this from being a full-blown 5 is that after I loaded about 25 people, it started hanging during scrolling, and when checking off 1-off reminders. Hope to see that straightened out soon, because I’m enjoying the app!

Hi jhonnyyQ, thanks for the review and the heads-up on the hanging. We'll see what we can find and fix it. Mark

Great for remembering people

I meet a lot of people and I find it really hard to remember important things about them. With this app it’s easy to take notes after meeting someone, so next time I see them I can ask about their job, school, family, etc and it’s much easier to strike up a conversation. Makes me feel more confident in social situations.

These are exactly the reasons I started building Revere. Thank you for taking the time to write. Mark

There was an attempt

Revere on the surface is a decent app, it easy to set up and use, but it lacks depth in its functionality and is extremely binary without much room for LGBTQ identifiers.

For example, when I need to search and adjust multiple entries, the search function does not save and display recent searches, so I have to remember who/what entry I just changed if I have additional changes to make.

And the Chrome extension is very limited, only allowing users to send notes. You can be as detailed in those notes as you like, but additional functionality (like turning reminders off, for example) would be more useful.

For saving information, like family names, the app insists on gendered identifiers rather than gender neutral terms. If I do not know the gender or pronouns of a person or family member, Revere has no room for to accommodate for that; it just has basic, binary gender terms, which is restrictive and does not allow for non-binary, gender-non-conforming, and transgender individuals to be seen and represented.

Finally Revere is scant on details about privacy protection. The privacy text provides some information about how account holder or user data is stored and sold, but there are few specifics; and from what I have gathered, there is little information available on whether Revere does anything with the personal information that is added and saved in a user’s account or not. Considering that people’s full names, birthdates, and children’s names and birthdates can be stored (and thus could be accessed and/or compromised), it is concerning that Revere is not more detailed about how they store information and who they sell it to.

Great app but subscription too expensive

I liked this app and can understand a developer wanting a subscription model to continue to maintain and further update the app, but the subscription cost at $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually is way to high for an app subscription. I believe this developer is missing out on a lot of business and dollars this app could generate at a lower subscription rate just be the word of mouth advertising that people would give it. I have one email app that I use and have an annual subscription cost of $10 and have recommended it to lots of friends. Wouldn’t pay and can’t recommend this app to anyone with a $50 annual subscription cost.

Requires login

The listing for this app looks great, but you have to give up your name and email in order to even look at it, let alone try to use it. It doesn’t even support “log in with Apple” for privacy. It was a waste of my time to download it.

Response from developer

Hi Gordon, I can understand how that would be a dealbreaker for you and others. Sign In with Apple is something we might add in the future. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Mark

Add photo button

Hi. Thanks for this app. Do you think add photo button to people notes area?

Response from developer

Yes, this is definitely on our list. And thanks for taking the time to write a review. Mark

Perfect in-between a CRM & Contacts app

I’ve been struggling for years with needing something between a full CRM (or even a light weight CRM), LinkedIn, and the Contacts app on my phone. I meet so many people and just needed a place to jot down where/how/when I met them and notes about our conversations so I could keep track of some details of the relationship. I’m not trying to sell them anything so I don’t need all the CRM features which made using a lightweight CRM for personal/professional reasons a really weird and gross experience. I also can’t remember all the details of who I connect with on LinkedIn and why, especially in short term networking situations. Revere hits the mark of what I need beautifully. Can’t wait for more Premium features, please don’t go in the CRM direction! Keep it fun and clean to use so it’s more B2C than B2B. Thank you!

Response from developer

Thank you! It’s great to hear revere it’s that sweet spot for you. And yes, the plan is to keep it B2C and keep building both Premium and Free features.

Wish it was one set payment to own

Too costly in the long run

Response from developer

That’s a valid request. We decided to make it subscription so we could build a business. We’re always adding Premium features so hopefully one day those features will make it worth the cost for you.

It’s good

As a person who doesn’t have a good memory it helps

Response from developer

Glad to hear that, thanks for taking the time to write a review.
