  • Beautiful but stale

I love this app’s design and simplicity, but its feature set is really lagging behind the free and open-source OctoPod app and plugin. If I could wave my hand and have Polymer support WebRTC streaming (“new stack”), DisplayLayerProgress, Cancel Objects, iOS Live Activities, and push notifications, to name a few, I’d certainly use it over the OctoPod app, which I simply don’t find to be as “nice.”

Any of these on the roadmap?
  • Pretty good!

There is only 1 thing I do not like. It doesn’t have a option to rotate a camera horizontally or vertically. Might be fixed at a later date. I do not know.
  • A genuinely good app with a genuinely good dev

Yes, it’s not perfect, but it’s by far the easiest way to check on my print without the headache of mobile web interfaces. The developer is super active, very friendly, and takes our opinions/suggestions seriously which is great to see! Can’t wait to see what this app holds in the future 😁

    Developer Response

You're too kind—thank you so much for the review! 😊
  • When it works, it's rather great

On initial installation, the app connected right away to the OctoPrint instance. It worked like a charm. Today, though, I'm no longer able to get this to work reliably. Not sure what changed. Tried disabling all plug-ins, but no luck so far. In comparison, OctoPod is still able to communicate with the printer. It's rather strange. Sadly, that app isn't nearly as nice, though it has more features. I do prefer Polymer when it works.
  • Fast and Responsive Access to your Octopi Instance

Does what it says on the tin. Very lightweight and responsive with plenty of features for popping in to check on your prints and getting on with your business.
  • Decent app / Not as good as native web page

The app is fine but I’m not seeing and value added over the web page available from Octoprint.

Also, the video files created by Octolapse aren’t visible.
  • Very Handy and Clean to Use

Seriously, just the other day I was thinking about how nice it would be to have an app to watch my OctoPrint server from afar (my office) and lo and behold: Polymer.

Very neat and clean and does *most* things in a way that puts the OctoPrint webUI to shame. Looking at the feature requests page, I see the author is on top of things trying to get some nice QOL updates in. I’m only giving 4 stars because it is missing PiP and notifications when a print is done, but those are nice to haves more than anything.

To the Dev: great work so far! Keep up the hard work :) near instant purchase for me.
  • Good, but freezes after a few minutes

I wanted to love this app. It has everything I need. But if I leave it open on my ipad, performance quickly starts to deteriorate. I think the ipad version has a memory leak. I have to close it and reopen. Fix this and it will be 5 stars.
  • This App Makes Convenience even Conveniency-er

I’ve used this app for a while, and while my prints would fail from time to time, this app never does. Once the name change and the new UI came I was impressed all over again. The application looks modern and is completely functional. I can’t say enough good things about it. Setup is easy and makes managing prints a dream.
  • Great app, good interface

I don't usually write reviews, so keep that in mind. I like this app because it is well designed for the iOS HIG & I can control my printer when I don't have a computer in front of me.
