  • Ummm

Why does it keep saying I “could have done better” and earned zero stars even though I completed each of them?

  • Really Pushing $48 Premium Subscription

Well, I guess I should’ve taken some actions to stop procrastinating.

I downloaded this app in June 2019. Back then, the free version included unlimited summaries and actions. You’d have to pay to unlock habit tracking for more than a few habits at a time.

Now, you get to see 3 actions per book unless you’re paying. That’s pretty low. I’m not sure when this change occurred, but I’m not a huge fan.

I don’t understand why you have to go for the annual plan to get a trial period, because I’d expect the monthly plan ($10) should warrant a trial period too... especially considering that the trial period is a mere 7 days, while habits apparently take a bit longer than that to develop.

  • Practice wisdom

Knowledge without practice is worthless. This app is the first ever product to learn new habits from proven though leaders
  • Developer feedback/request

I have had this app for a couple of months and I want to love it. It’s a great concept and I like the content.

Developer, there are two critical details that make me hide it on my second page of phone and forget about it. The app isn’t becoming “sticky” like it should and I’m not inclined to pay for it without fixes for these. (And my rating is really more of a 3/5 until fixed, 5/5 if fixed. Will update it accordingly).

    1) The home page should absolutely not be a feed. I open the app and hit decision fizzle-out. (In the moment, I forget that there’s the other screen. This is the “Doorway Effect” sorta; interesting discussion of it on HN if you search for it. My 2c is that this acutely affects people with limited working memory, such as ADD brains, and that that’s a very good group for you to accommodate with your app!).

** Solution: just swap the left two tabs, or give us the option in preferences.

    2) (less important) The app icon is not one I want to keep on my home screen and look at every day. This also reduces stickiness of your app for (someone like) me. The book icon kind of looks like a mustache or hair. In any case it’s too many lines/ it’s “busy” so it throws off my home screen. Ideally your icon for this kind of app should not be abrasive or grab attention. If it were more simple, and... not red... I would be less likely to feel like it’s a nag, and more likely to embrace it.

** Suggestion: new simpler logo or allow us to pick from two logos. The ideal one for me would have less lines and a muted color (or grayscale). Not “alarm” red.

  • This App is Fantastic! Perfect daily reminders to build the changes in thinking I need.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

With actions from “Morning Miracle”, “Obstacle is the Way”, “Make Your Bed”, and “Power of Positive Thinking”, this app pushes me reminders throughout the day that help clarify my thinking, reduce my stress, and encourage me to take of myself.

I’ve already noticed a big chance in my ability to step up outside my emotions and remind myself, “most anxiety is fear of the unknown. By immersing myself in the task I will find balance.” So on point!

It’s a great app with excellent cues to bring the daily changes in thinking I need.

  • This Works!

I wanted to change some things in my life, but I could not stick with anything. Frustrating! Then I thought about using my phone which goes with me everywhere. I stumbled upon HabitCoach and I immediately thought it was a fantastic idea. These folks have done the hard work of extracting the action steps from many of the best books available. These individual daily steps have been incorporated into this system that helps you turn daily actions into habits. And they are the good habits that you want because you choose them one at a time. I can’t explain it, but this is working for me. And now I use it on both my iPad and iPhone throughout the day and it always updates. There is a 7 day trial period to try just a couple of things and see if you like it. It’s working for me.

  • LOVE THIS APP

I love books and especially self help books. I have tried so many habit tracker apps. I thought I had seen them all. Then came HabitCoach. It’s the most useful app ever! It’s just perfect! It has all the best books and you get to read summaries of the books that resonate most with you, and then you choose action items to help you achieve whatever your feel you need to improve on. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you can choose many daily actions or just one. I just love it!
