A few months ago, they updated their app. I had dozens of audio files uploaded and recorded into the app that all got corrupted when they released the update. They’re gone forever. Deleted entirely from the app and from their content management system. The update corrupted my files in such a way that they can never be recovered by myself or by their team of developers. I have countless songs, ideas, melodies, choruses and lyrics that are completely erased now. Such a huge bummer.
On a more positive note, their customer service rep was very kind and understanding in the process. They responded with empathy and compassion. However, they were entirely unable to amend the error.Show lessMostudly

Hi there - first and foremost, we’d like to reiterate how sorry we are about your loss. Being writers ourselves and having lost songs due to things like a computer crashing, we completely empathize with how devastating losing countless hours of your deepest thoughts and feelings can be. While there is nothing we can do to amend this, we are in the process of releasing a feature called cross device sync to avoid an issue like this going forward. This will allow our customers to access their account and songs on multiple devices, and more importantly, will allow us to back up our customers’ songs securely to the cloud.Great App/Even better owners
First, the app is great for lyrics and songwriting...but that should always be obvious, given it’s nature. It has many useful tools incorporated to help you choose mood along with rhyming assistance. You can also capture the key, date of origin, composer info, all along with many other helpful subtleties that other apps do not offer.
Second, I had to contact their customer support over some issues I was experiencing (ended up truly being my own fault); however one of the owners contacted me directly and ensured that my concerns where not only managed...but heard. He took the time to show his empathy and realized (along with compassion) that my songwriting is used for my mental/emotional therapy. He didn’t have to. I’ll repeat that again...he didn’t have to. We live in a world with a lot of reoccurring dismissiveness. But he slowed down and cared. I’ll forever use their app. Mainly because of their character, and then subsequently the usefulness of the app.Show lessBellacino

That was an incredible review and a great reminder of why we created Songwriter Pro. It has been quite an adventure so far and we’re grateful to have a growing community of songwriters supporting us. We know we're not perfect and have plenty of progress to make, but we're committed to that progress and understand that we have a responsibility towards all of our customers whom afford us the privilege of being a part of their songwriting process. I live this app. That said, I do find it limits my way of writing as I use the app primarily on the go jut when I am home, I use a computer. I wish there was an option for a desktop app or site where I could sync from my desktop or laptop. Now I use another desktop program and duplicate my work. Big fan of this app!... however,
Been using this app to write songs, log riff ideas, and jot down general production notes for about a year, and it’s worked out great... until the redesign a month or so ago. Now, any individual song tab that had more than one recorded file attached to it has corrupted the audio data, and i’ve lost the majority of them. I do genuinely like the new interface, and would like to keep using it in the future should the issue be fixed, but this is really unfortunate.Show lessArbor_Day
Lost 50 songs...I thought.
The app auto-updated and now requires an account to be set up, meaning there is no way to access all of my work. It doesn’t recognize any of my email addresses, because before this update there was no login.
UPDATE:
After I created an account and logged in, all of my songs were there... feel a bit dumb, but massively relieved. Hope this review helps any others in the same boatShow less2020Scott

Thanks so much for updating your review after you learned that you needed to create an account first and then all of your songs would automatically be populated. We have many customers who were in a similar boat: they were worried their songs were gone, but as soon as they created an account they were relieved to see that all of their songs were still there. Looks like this review was originally left during a period where Songwriter Pro was experiencing compatibility issues with iOS13 which has since been solved and left our customers with an experience they're very happy with.Crash on start
From the looks of it, this looks like it used to be a great app. Was really looking forward to using it for my songwriting. Saw a lot of great reviews and decided to give it a shot. But after purchasing and opening the app, it just crashes. I understand that this stems from compatibility issues with iOS 13, and I’m sure the developer does not have a whole team behind him/her so it’s understandable that it’s taking longer to fix it. I get that, and I’m not going to give them crap about that. But I do think it’s irresponsible to leave this app up on the App Store and continue to accept new purchases knowing that it just doesn’t work. I was issued a refund, but I’d be willing to try this app out again in the future if things are fixed.Show lessjaycut15

Hi there - you bring up some valid points and we feel absolutely awful that it took us so long to get this issue fixed for our customers. As soon as we realized this was going to take longer than expected, we considered our options to ensure new customers didn't continue to buy an app that had a bug. But, Apple only provides 2 options: either delete the app entirely (this means we would have to start from scratch) or leave the app on the store until the issue gets fixed. While this has taken far longer to solve than we would have liked, we're excited to announce that the issue has been fixed and the app is working now. We’d sincerely like to apologize to you for the delay! We’re a small team of 2 and while we do our best to provide you with the best experience possible, we recognize we fell short on getting this issue solved quickly. In addition to fixing the iOS13 issue we also made some further updates to improve the writing interface, keep your songs private and safe with password-protected accounts, and we also introduced landscape support.Was working great, now not working at all
The app has been my favorite, now wont come up needs an update or you’ll lose songs. Maybe be care about using cause you might lose hit songs with this.Hmsizem
