This is a gem of a game with tons of freebies for new players.
The only downside is scarcity of the latest online resources besides very old YouTube videos and fake "updated" articles that says "March 2024 updated" but are actually old news without a single mentioned of the latest servants.

It’s great
I’ve been playing this game for years and had 1 account growing. My phone battery blew up so I came back again and got started with iPhone 10. This game is fun for afk and battles its continuously growing and updating. Absolutely a great game and I recommend it for anyone. No purchases are necessary to be good.

Amazing in genre, could be improved
Out of the collectible strategy rpg games out there, HoL is the best. Awesome graphics, theme, summon rates and ability to build out your teams. There is one fatal flaw for me though that I hope gets more attention. The auto ability of this game is so good I end up not needing to play except for moving around gear or selecting next stage. This is a huge miss in my opinion and I would like to see more work done to address the engaging aspect of this game. 10/10 on everything else.

Sadness at purgatory tutorial
Installed with high hopes, tutorial locks on ‘click quest tile’ I complete it, and it repeats. Having done level 1 - 15 times I uninstalled as it obviously wasn’t working. For those who do not desire or need a tutorial in a game , please allow the function to skip it or disable it.

This game is absolutely the best mobile game of this kind I know for people who don’t have much time to actually “playing ”on the phone. It create a balance between auto and manual. The resources gaining distribution is perfect. You can obtain resource when you have time. And you can also do that when you only have half an hour per day. As long as you keep playing this,you can get most of the resources you need to play on. Even for a day or two you didn’t,you won’t left behind too much.
The event and new heroes are constantly developed month after month.
Really good game to play for long term.

Strange RPG Concept
I played this game for a while out of interest in the artwork. Dark Fantasy is very static in a way that keeps it from being offensive like satire or bad humor. Dark Fantasy is practically non-criticism if not safe, even in a Totalitarian setting. I’m troubled with whether or not my game progress is considered a proprietary like “what I paid for.” Instead of something that has to be shared with others as Massively Roleplayer, an RPG is supposed to subtract moderation failure and forced cooperation to be more of a subtle art of patience and learning through improvement. I think Heir of Light is a total failure as a game. It’s probably haunted. Yikes.

I have a new iPad mini 6th gen and iOS 15.2.
Takes multiple attempts to login, if you accidentally double tap on main screen it’ll start 2 logins and never login.
Wouldn’t let me claim my 7 day login reward, ripped off.
UI is weird and not intuitive. Its like this game was made by a bunch highschool kids. No UX thought, shotty rewards and constant pop ups.
Oh and tricks you into watching a video, when it claims you have rewards.
I like the idea of the game but it needs another 6 months of cleanup and polish.

Gives a nostalgic feeling
Normaly I don’t write reviews and don’t care about them, but this game is something else. It reminds me of dark souls, the characters, the bosses, the edgyness and the music OST. The game is insanly nostalgic to me and is the best mobile game I have ever played by far. Definitly give it a try.
P.S. is there a way to disable the vibration that occurs every time after you win a battle, it’s really annoying me and can’t find a way to disable it :/
Still overall it gets a easy 5/5 rating
