4.0.7

June 14, 2024

Hey gang, I’ve got a small update with a few bug fixes. IMPROVEMENTS • Accessibility and Voice Over improvements BUG FIXES • FIXED: Issue where Audiobooks weren't returning a title • FIXED: Price calculation issue on Super Sofa upgrade screen ============================ SOFA 4.0 ============================ Sofa helps you be more intentional with your downtime by creating lists of things to watch, read, play, and more. With 4.0, you can add basically anything, and expand Sofa to fit your exact needs with Custom Categories, Ingredients, Smart Lists, and more. ============================ WHAT'S NEW ============================ ALL NEW HOME SCREEN DESIGN • New design for The Pile • New design, and name, for Logbook (formerly Activity) • New design, and name, for Pinned Items (formerly The Shelf) • Customize what is shown on the home screen and how "quirky" it is. Go to Settings → Fiddly Things CUSTOM CATEGORIES Create categories for anything: articles, events, places to eat, and more. ADD YOUR OWN INGREDIENTS Create your own rating system, plan dates for future downtime activities, add robust tagging, and more. PINNED LISTS Always have certain lists within thumbs-reach. SMART LISTS Create lists that automatically populate based on a collection of filters. ADD MANUAL ITEMS You can now add items manually into Sofa with full editing capabilities. That means you can edit the title, description, image, and add your own Ingredients. ADD LINKS Paste links into Sofa and automatically get a nice preview along with pre-filled information. ADD VIA SHARE SHEET Add websites, videos, articles, and more into Sofa via the Share Sheet. USE IMAGES FROM CAMERA ROLL Use images from your camera roll or take a photo to use for cover images. ============================ BACKUP FILE CHANGES ============================ There is a new file format for Sofa backup files to work better with saving images and the new Ingredients feature. The new extension is .sofa3bk and will be automatically created starting from version 3.5. These new backup files will be a bit larger to account for the additional data that is now being saved. I've also added a setting for choosing the frequency of automatic backups: daily (default), weekly, every 2 weeks, and monthly. ============================ SHARED LISTS ARE ENDING ============================ I’m going to be ending the beta and removing the ability to create new shared lists. Shared Lists was launched as a beta feature in December of 2022. If you're not sure what "beta" means, it basically means that something is in an unproven or experimental state. During this time, I've learned a lot about what sharing looks like in Sofa, and what it doesn't. Basically, I need to go back to the drawing board and rethink how sharing will work in Sofa long-term. I have a lot of new things coming to Sofa that the current implementation of Shared Lists just doesn’t work with. Things like Custom Categories, Ingredients, and more in the pipeline (i.e. Tracking Progress). Please know, I made this decision with care, and I'm genuinely sad that it’s going away. That being said, it’s something I want to bring back in the future.  Go to sofahq.com/support for more info ============================ As always, don't hesitate to reach out with feedback, issues, and suggestions. Reviews of Sofa

Oh so close to essential

This app is very impressive and exactly what I needed in my life considering the navigation of services stream content. One major feature is lacking, and that is notifications alerting the user if a streaming service has changed for a show or movie on your lists. Notifications would be game changing, considering it’s hard to keep track of shows new season dates, schedule changes, shows leaving one service to another, etc.
Couple this need with the fact that premium features paywall links to services and this app goes from being something I would use every day to a glorified notes app with customization and pretty posters for my content.
This is my first review of any app on the App Store , and it’s because this app has serious potential, it is crisp has a load of customization options, and links for convenience if you are open to supporting the developer, however it can be much much more.

The App I Have Been Searching For!

After many years of searching for an app that allows me to catalogue various aspects of my life (Restaurants, Wine, TV Shows, Books, Experiences – a mix of things) in a visual, satisfying way... I have finally found it in Sofa! It is a near perfect amalgamation of other apps I've tried, and I can finally keep everything in one tidy app that allows me to rate items and use tags to search (ie; I want to search for that one Italian restaurant that I went to years ago in Chicago, or which hotel did I stay at for that one wedding...). I'm so pleased to have finally found Sofa – keep it up, Shawn! Thank you.

Great app. Missing important features.

I was looking for an app where ai could combine all types of media, and this is it! But ai would completely love it if we could get some of the features of the app tv forecast (like when movies and shows are coming out) so I can keep track of them because if I add something to a list I do not know when it’s coming out unless I click on every single item. Also, a progress option would be amazing because I might watch a show but then stop for a while or if I move it to the “logbook” I have to bring it back when a new season starts instead of the app telling me I would have to find out myself.
